Hi Lisa, I have used the 1911.co.uk and paid to view the details: it's really worth it, I have found. I have looked up all my grandparents!!! It's not free anywhere except to search.

If you can get to the National Archives at Kew, it is free to search there; also, I believe at the Mormons' Family History Centre in Hyde Park, London.

Otherwise, there are the two sites given as in the above posting.

I already subscribe to findmypast.co.uk and the 1911 census has taken my research into my rellies who moved from Scotland to England forward in leaps and bounds.

If you only have a few to seek, then 1911.co.uk is probably the more economical option, but if you have a lot of folk to find or want all the other stuff like BMD's, military, etc... as well. Go for a sub to findmypast.

You guys are forgeting the way that is completely, totally free. All you need is the cheek to just come on here and star a thread with "can anyone with access to the 1911census ....etc"
You would n't be the first.
