Just made some lovely chicken stock - chicken carcass, bay leaves, peppercorns, onions and herbs - gorgeous - then I strained it - over the sink!!!!!

Ann I always make my own chick stock from the carcass, but as yet haven't strained it over the sink.
Yours did sound lovely must remember the peppercorns next time I do any !

opps I've done that before! All i do now is stick the whole lot into a large Pirex jug, wait for it to settle (the fat stuff goes to the top) then bung it in the freezer. When frozen, I plop the whole lot out of the jug, and cut away the fat that has hardened on the top so I'm left with the good stuff at the bottom:)) Then the good stuff goes into a bag in the freezer.

Oh Ann, how annoying ! Have a read of the thread on General, Ann, you will see what daft things others have done - you might not feel so daft !

I saw that chap pour his flavoured milk? through the sieve and down the sink on Come Dine with Me, the commentator in the background comes out with some wonderful asides when things like that happen, don't you think?
