Anything happening in your area for St George's day? It seems sometimes we are afraid to be English. I'm fed up with the PC brigade and racism accusations if we fly the flag.
What do you think?

Should add nothing happening where I am re St Georges but we do have a contingency coming over from Germany that day for town twinning.

Well I am a bit confused by the local church who are putting on a St Georges day tea...... On Sunday 25th, but I suppose it is better than nothing.

I think I have seen a couple of things advertised in this area but can't remember what.

Nothing seems to happen around here to celebrate St. George's Day, unless they do in the schools.
Talking of flying flags, there is someone a mile or so away, who has named his cottage, Groote Schure (sp), and flies the South African flag. Presumably either that is where he comes from, or he likes his history,(Milner, Baden Powell etc. Cape to Cairo Railway)
My next but one neighbour has a skull and cross bones flag in his back garden.Tut, tut. I always thought you had to have planning permission to erect a flag pole. I am sure the former gentleman would have obeyed this regulation, but I know the latter most definitely would not.

If you have a local team of Morris Dancers it may well be the first dance out of the summer season.

Dear Pat

Hello

There is not much happening in our area.

A couple of the local pubs organise a quiz and have traditional fish and chips or pie and mash on the menu.

At our home, we are flying the flags!

Take care
Very best wishes
xx
