I don't think people are whinging, I think they have had a horrendous time through nobody's fault. Yes they were kept safe but to be stranded with nowhere to sleep especially if you had young children would have been exhausting, that is what peoples' reaction is pure exhaustion and we should not criticize them for that. And don't forget, in a lot of cases they have had little or no direction as to what to do which is quite frightening if you are in a foreign country with your money running out and you can't speak the language.

It's good they are back flying..
Stopping flights,It was the right thing to do.
If one plane had crashed with loss of life well doesn't bear thinking about.
They can't do right for doing wrong can they?

Personally ....... You wouldn't catch me getting on a plane this week.NO way...

I think I missed my way in life I can be dramatic when pushed....and come up with silly things....but I would of said if I was a reporter " You have been left homeless abandoned traumatised and scared for life, so are you pleased to be home safe and sound?"

True Hayley, I think they weren't sure what was safe and what wasn't so they erred on the side of caution. I am sure if there is a next time they will know better what to do.

All UK airports have been given the go-ahead to reopen, the Transport Secretary has said.

Lord Adonis made the announcement earlier, after a reassessment of the risk to aircraft from volcanic ash.

The decision means that long-haul BA flights currently in the air will be able to land at London Heathrow.

The first of these, arriving from Vancouver, landed at Heathrow shortly before 2200 BST.

all airports now open. The above is from the BBC site look at BBC news on its web site for more info. As I said on another thread, fancy getting excited at seeing vapour trails.!!!!
