I've been wondering how families have managed with very young children and babies, must be really worrying for them all!

AnninGlos Report 21 Apr 2010 20:58

Especially with bottle fed babies, would they have had enough food left I wonder, and nappies? Maybe Boots stayed open in the airports for that reason. They sell jars of baby food don't they?

Yes, we have credit cards on us. Some people seem to have run up huge expenses, presumably on their credit cards.

There will be a lot in debt now.
Do you think a lot who have tried to get their own way back might lose out?
I dont think some of the travel companys will pay out if they have travelled on their own....if you know what I mean.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 21 Apr 2010 21:15

I think you are right Marion, they are going to have to find ways of not paying or it is going to be too expensive for them, they will find all sorts of loop holes.

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 21 Apr 2010 21:38

Didnt Gordon Brown tell them to try and get to the nearest port but ABTA said no, stay where they are?
I understood you had to go by what your travel company said.
What a nighmare for a lot it is going to be.

AnninGlos Report 21 Apr 2010 21:49

I think people must have been really confused by all the conflicting advice, and a lot of them would not have had access to televisions etc if they were at airports in a foreign country. Nightmare!!

I'm sure bills will have been run up willy nilly expecting to get refunds, which wont be the case for all.
Ryanair Sp) are digging their heels in.
