When I swim or lie in bed I have a feeling of pain, lumpy swelling, stiffness in my toes and sole of my foot which spreads up my foot. This is also present when sitting still although if I sit in an upright position on a hard chair with slippers on I don't feel these sensations. As soon as I take the slippers off my feet feel this lumpy swelling, my toes become stiff which spreads up the foot from the toes both on top and bottom of my foot. |

Are you a diabetic? If so, you will find this sort of problem is a constant in your life, changing often from cramp to feeling like leaded lumps at the bottom of your legs. Can also make you stumble. It is a neuropathic disorder. |

Thank you Jean for the reply. The doctor discounted my being a diabetic when I first started seeing him but that was over 3 years ago. We're trying water tablets this month in case its something to do with water retention shall ask him if I can have a blood test. |
