Well, I've just spent time on a TTF search that turned out to be in aid of finding out who the ghost in a house might be ... so maybe the woo topics are just shifting locales ...

Sorry, chuck, typo - I meant his holyness pope benny the 16th, AKA Joe Ratzinger. They get a fancy name like pious or something when they get promoted.

Nah, it's been too banal and unexciting. I mean, standards are dropping. There’s only been one fight worth talking about, and to be honest, I've seen better over a game of marbles in a toddler’s playground, which is where I presume that one originated anyway. But I will admit that the general level of politeness is certainly on the rise. I’ve never had a single nasty PM and hardly a single (articulate, anyway) insult on the boards themselves, so at least that’s something.

It’s nice, however, to see an increase in the Family History queries, even if they are rather speculative. I was going to ask if anyone knew my great uncle Snodberg who died in 1843, but I was terrified that someone would say they had just been speaking to him and he is telling me never to eat yellow snow.

Urban mythology is still a popular topic, I see. Its harmless amusing fun, I know, but let me tell you never ever ever in a month of Saturdays should you pick up a gang member dressed as a woman in a petrol station forecourt on a full moon in May if they ask you to sniff perfume. It’s just asking for trouble. But I’m sure everyone will be pleased to know that I’ve won the Patagonian lottery and I’m just waiting for my billion dollars, having sent off the admin fees of a thousand pounds. Should be here any day now.

It seems that people are getting healthier – there have hardly been any ailment threads. I used to love enriching my medical acumen by reading the manifold detailed descriptions of various intimate afflictions. I always wanted to ask advice on my ingrowing ear hair, but I felt humbled by the plethora of health issues far more serious than my own rather mundane one. But the plus side is that the NHS must be getting it right somewhere along the line, I suppose.

It’s very disappointing to see the lack of woo topics, which were my very favouritest ones. Could it be that everyone has seen the light? Not the one that you step into, that’s not what I meant. Religion, too – apart from a brief discussion about that nasty Mr Ratburger or whatever his name is, it’s been pretty quiet on that front. I think we should have a bible discussion thread just to liven things up a bit.

So it’s more a case of what hasn’t been rather than what has. It’s a shame really; it used to be such a lively and vibrant community with sparkling and witty debate punctuated by pithy comments and hugs and positive thoughts all round.
