if any of you would like to see what a really rude member is like I suggest you go to the Surname Board and look for a posting from another David - I was incandescent with rage this morning and so put his pompous reply on the boards for all to see - thought he would have deleted by now. I worked so hard finding info for him and see his reply to me!! beggars belief

it's Headed Holdsworth Family History

David, dear, you just have no idea.... and common good manners? well..... your manners are definitely NOT good.... so common they might be.

I couldn't even blummin well see because of my chemo.... leave alone type a message, lolol.... I was in intensive care for weeks...... yeh, like I am going to show good manners and reply to a******* (edited at the request of BC, bless her!!) like you when I was on bloody life support!

What an unmitigated idiot you are!!. Are you for real, or are you out WUMMING.

Get a life man.....

Go on... RR........ Poor Patrick took the flak because of the opinion of nonentities such as yourself, and he didn't deserve it.

im sorry but if i was very ill or very busy, the last thing on my mind would be posting on genes.lots of people have trauma of one kind or another, are busy, work full time, they dont have the time to spare to be on these boards day in day out,at the end of the day geneology is a hobby something most of us do at the end of the day to relax.some people are not able to sign on every day due to busy lives, illness, jobs, children . i cant always sin in,but when i do i reply to my messages and thank people for help they have given me,but some times thats wks later.x

David, I feel you are a little out of order here.

I am sorry that you are having to go through chemo, we know second hand what that is like as we have had several members go through it and share the experience with us, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

However, I feel under no obligation to reply just because I am a member on here. I joined Genes to further my family tree and I do actually reply to everyone who contacts me, even if they are mistaken in any connection, I also send out copies of whatever certificates I may have that they haven't. But that is my choice, I did not sign a contract to say that I would agree to reply to all whatever my circumstances. So there is no obligation for anybody to reply at all.

Hi David,,,,,,You are not in a good spot health wise just now and hope good improvements come your way soon and fast,,,,,

but what often happens is people move, people change their internet supplier which too often comes with a new email address, making the old one redundant with which they have may registered on this site with,,and if they have not bothered to renew a paid membership or not revisited the site to notify a change of email address ,then any messages sent just dont go anywhere only held with a GR server for ever more.....so just one of many many reasons why members are none responsive

I have 6 sent messages which to date remain unopened,,I put it down to just my luck,,,!.

David.....well good for you, but not everyone is as capable as you, and as Deanna says....not everyone is at home!!!

l am very sorry about your problems but some have even worse situations to deal with and some may well have died!!! Some may well have gone away and some might still be in hospital, have some thoughts for them please. We are not all perfect!!

David, I am sorry you are having health problems... honestly I am... BUT.

You are at home.
I have health problems as bad or even worse than yours and so I know what I am talking about!

The morning I showed the first signs of my stroke, I came on the computer to tell everyone that I was "a little under the weather. and I will get back after I've had a rest!"
I switched on the electricity spent the next 10 minutes staring at the computer.... I had forgotten what to do!!!
I was fully convinced that I was a bit tired and would be better after a rest.
I remember NOTHING after that, and found myself in hospital two days later, having missed those two days!!
My son took me there.... and I STILL do not know anything about it.
I came out SEVEN WEEKS LATER...... and they only let me out because I was so miserable and cried all the time to go home.

So PLEASE do not be so judgemental.
There are people on here much, much sicker than you may even imagine.
I am neither lacking in manners, or lazy, so please accept that there are people who just do not bother, and many more who CANNOT .

I HOPE THIS FINDS YOU GETTING BETTER AND I'M SURE YOUR E-MAILS WILL BE ANSWERED EVENTUALLY.

Oops... sorry, did not mean to shout. ;-0)

I am sorry you are suffering David, i should have said that...

But it makes no difference to my opinion that not everyone feels able to reply when they are ill...and perhaps counting every second they have with their family as rather more important than the politeness of replying to an email from a stranger...

Rambling

Rambling Report 16 Apr 2010 20:09

NO! , no one has an 'obligation' to other users...I signed up and paid to do MY tree for ME and my close family...not complete strangers who are related to my third cousin twice removed by marrriage ( wonderful though they may be!) and I don't expect people to abandon real life work, family and commitments...least of all their health... to satisfy my HOBBY of finding out about ( largely ) dead people...

I spend a fair amount of time doing searches for others...i do it because I enjoy it...not because signing up with GR 'obligates' me!

I'm with you Patrick,no matter how ill or lazy one is, common good manners always dictates a simple reply such " I'm indisposed" or "will be in touch soon". I Am suffering from prostrate Cancer and have just been diagnosed with diabetes. Chemo leaves me devastated yet I honour any mail that come my way...Why... because if I sign up for Genes reunited I have an obligation to fellow subscribers.
