I've seen that petition, and the way I understood it was.......

Yes - buy petrol from your local Tesco, Asda or wherever,
but DON"T buy it from the petrol stations and motorway service stations, who are mainly Shell or BP.
It's those 2 who keep the prices up apparently, whilst the others do their best to keep the prices down.

Stray I doubt the day stoppage would make a difference but I do believe the veto of certain companys would.

I had an e-mail about not buying petrol from Sh**l or B* (which happen to be the same company.)
It stated that if everybody who received the e-mail didn't buy from them and also sent it to 10 people who also stopped buying from them etc etc.
They would eventually bring the price of petrol down to attract customers back which in turn would make other garages bring down their prices,
Sounds a good idea to me.

I doubt it would do any good. I saw a TV report yesterday where Gordon Brown was muttering on a radio show call in where he said about reducing the price of fuel.

CUT THE BLASTED DUTY ON IT THEN MAN!!!!

Stray you are sooo right. They will wont they? People have to have petrol/fuel to get to work so no matter when they buy it it will be sold. However, it may make a point if the tills are quiet on that day, draw attention to it.

Absolutely would yes. x

(though I am not convinced that not buying fuel for one day will make too much difference but am happy to give it a go) x
