I had a similar problem with a willow next door where I used to live. It wasn't a weeping willow either, even though my neighbour swore it was. It was one of those huge willows you get by the river, the wild ones.

He would cut the branches back, but by the next year, they were all spread across my garden leaving nearly all of it in shade again.

When he bought his house, he gloated a bit about that (these were council houses), but he said he had cracks appearing in one of the bedrooms. I said it's probably the willow roots damaging the foundations because it's too close to the house. He was out next day and was going to cut it down, but his wife stopped him.

One year, it was full of sap and we had thousands of wasps around it.

Its next doors stupid willow tree twice now over the years she has a greed to cut in down but we pay she lets them get so far and then stops them so the tree is just cut back and of course sprouts more limbs and gets worse.

TW, it was 18 degrees here on Saturday. Weather nice here this morning, but according to the weather gal on the local radio, it might not last.
Pity, I am in for a spot of trellis preserving today. Well, it beats the i***ing.LOLOL

It is gorgeous out... I am off to the timber yard... what a gadabout, ay? and then I am going to plant up some more seeds.... and weed the top corner cos it looks dreadful!

Bah Humbug!
Cold and wet here!

After 123 days in a row when the max temp was above 20 degrees,
the last 2 days only got to 18 degrees!

I hope all my British friends will send me sympathy and positive thoughts!
