To be honest, I do not know where i found the time to go to work anyway. There is not a minute in the day that is not filled now I am retired. As the years go by I still have 100s of things I wish to start/do/complete before it`s too late.

I'm supposed to be retired, but as OH is self employed, I now do his accounts, book in any work, answer the phone during the day. Sometimes it can feel like a full time job, but without pay.

ShellyRose, welcome to Chat if you a newbie, I havn't seen you before, and welcome to allotment holding. We have had one for about 20 years.
You will enjoy it, especially if you do not go at it like a bull in a china shop.
Welcome

Personally speaking, I do not know how I had time to go to work. And, I have not been on a bus or train for years.

We are renovating a house......just the two of us...no workmen...!

You name it I'm builder's mate, plumbers mate,I refuse to go on the roof but I have to stand at the bottom when he does the tiles...next years job..

It would be nice to say we are retired....no chance...

Annie G congrats on your retirement

I really can do loads of things as in the winter we are a retirement haven also only a few mins from the beach and have 2 dogs.

My M-I-L found retirement great as she goes on all sorts of trips with her cake decorating and cross-stitch groups, even getting a passport and going to Amsterdam and Spain ( well both her brother and son live here now lol)

Never been as busy in my life since I retired! So many things to do, so little time to do them.

We did go to Bristol by train last year but trains in this area are not very good and very expensive. We go into Cheltenham or Gloucester by bus with our free passes, usually one or the other or maybe both once a week. We try and go out in the summer months once a week, either to NT places or gardens, or garden centres further afield. the rest of the time I make cards, do the scrap book, play with photos, write letters, belong to the writing group, read. gardening I am never bored OH plays golf 3 times a week usually so we are not under each others feet.
