Sylvia,
Glad to hear that all was well. after your OH's op.......

mine was nowhere near as serious as that......although I HAD been suffering.......and not realising it!

Bob

I think OH's rebore was slightly different from yours.

He had had a benign swelling of the prostate for many years.

Then he had 18" of his colon removed (cancer). Everything went fine, and he was released from the hospital after 5 days.

Then we had to take him back to Emergency after about 3 days ..... it turned out that the prostate had not liked, indeed had objected to the catheter , and responded by swelling enough to almost block the tubing.

Rebore, literally, was done the next morning

He has been fine ever since ...... and the waterworks have never been faster

(and no further treatment needed for the cancer, they got it all!).

Hope all is going well for McB, and for his daughter.

I really feel for Brian.....

Allo Bob,

Well i had quit a painfull / uncomfortable night & most of today, it has eased a bit know so perhaps i too lost my scab, i've spent the afternoon back in hosi with my daughter who was rushed in lunchtime in agony with pain in her side & back, they've done a load of tests & filled her with morphine, can't find anything obvious, so she's home now fast asleep.

last night was my first real pain free night, and today was good, also, since the op......at last I am 'going' when I want to go, rather that when the pain says.....".....go........"
lets hope that its the road to success for the op!

A week on.........
realising that the internal wound would heal and scab, its now the time for the scab to dissolve and pass......its been quite painful at times...and all this time have not been able to trust myself going out.....or being more than a couple of minutes away from a toilet.
poor Mcb it appears has picked up an infection for which antibiotics have been prescribed, but finding the correct antibiotic is still a problem....
quite a traumatic time for us both,.....

watch this space.....

I'm back,

Unlike Bob i had the full anesthetic, no bother, woke up after the op ( one hour ) & was with it straight away & no drowsyness, although i like bob had the re bore they found i had a cyst in the bottom of my bladder acting like a valve closing the pipe when i wanted to !!!!!.
Don't like those ****** catheters though.
