Cynthia, do you get to see our election debates over there? Hm.

We'll see bits possibly on Cdn TV, or on BBC World. I wonder, it's posibble BBC World would carry it, but I doubt it. It's world news rather than UK news. Maybe more bits, though. ;)

I think Elizabeth needs to smite you for talking election.

Can I offer you some of our politicians just for fun?

Helena Guergis, until last week Minister for the Status of Women, and her hsuband, ex-MP Rahim Jaffer, are under investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for corruption, influence-peddling ... we don't know what all yet, because nobody's saying.

Obviously, they're Conservatives. ;)

You people are just CONSTANTLY posting things for no reason but to make me jealous.

Of course there are all the Coronation Street / East Enders / Doctor Who threads about things I won't see for another 10 months ... or two years ...

(We get Corrie and Stenders way behind, but we have downloaded bootleg DrWhos and are slowly catching up.)

Next is the big meet this weekend, or whatever meet has been or will be, and that of course I can't quite get up the airfare for.

And now, an election.

What I wouldn't give for an election. To get rid of the vile horrible smarmy lying egomaniac monomaniac Stephen Harper and all his vile horrible smarmy lying henchpeople. Yes, an election, please, I want one.

I will be happy to take yours. Maybe *you* would even pay *me* to do it??

I e-mailed a complaint yesterday, as I have been trying to get in touch with the local prospective candidate..... to no avail... anyway, within 1/4 hour he turned up on my doorstep... and stayed patiently answering all my questions for a couple of hours. I ended up looking at photos of his beautiful little toddler son, lolol

I liked him. I wasn't expecting to, I must say, and he hasn't a snowball in Hell's chance of getting elected in this ward, either, so the horrid man who was in before and was so rude to people at one of the Polling stations (not reported in the papers, witnessed by myself!) will probably get back in.... *sighs*

It's not the legit election stuff that I can choose to avoid that I mind. It is the oeoplr who, with an air of knowing something I don't,which they no doubt do,relate to me exactly what the newspaper they read has told them.
