Hello folk,
I have tried to find the marriage of Richard Gullick to either Eliza Story/Storry between 1871 and 1881 on the Genes website and using Ancestry but have not found a record.
I also looked at Scotland website as previously suggested (thanks anyway), but again a blank.
Any ideas please?
thanks in advance

Hello Folks,
I have now received the two childrens certificates which may help identify "Eliza".

I have the birth certificate of "Ann" Gullick which has 'Eliza' Gullick formerly 'Storry'. Born 16th June 1875.

I also decided to second check by purchasing the birth certificate of "Ellen" born 23rd February 1880, which states 'Eliza' Gullick formery 'Story'

This at least gives me some basis to carry on.
I would like to thank all who have advised me.
regards

Leslie.

You have certainly a lot of studying to do as you can see there is more than 1 Eliza/Elizabeth Story.

Personally I would do as Somerset Lass says and Buy the first daughters birth cert.

Good Luck

The case of Maria Gullick, wife of Richard Gullick ,miner of Welton Hollow Radstock, who jumped into the River Somer early on Saturday morning clad only in her nightdress, was brought forward, but after some consultation between the magistrates and the husband of the woman it was decided that she should be left in his care.

Leslie,

It is possible that Richard Gullick and Eliza were married in Scotland as Cumberland borders Scotland and with him being quite a bit older than her then her parents could have objected.so they went to Scotland to get married.

They didn't get married overseas as I have checked overseas marriages.
You will need to look at ""Scotlandspeople"" site.

A Public Family Tree on ancestry has Richard marrying an Elizabeth Story

however, he has no sources cited, no information for her except birth 1855

but he does have a lot of children for the couple!

Is this the couple who had 16 children, the marriage should have been around 1873? Where have you looked other than free BMD?

Hello,
I am having great difficulty in trying to identify the full name of "Eliza" the wife of Richard Gullick.
He was born in 1845 in Radstock, Somerset.
Eliza was born in 1853 in Bothel, Cumberland.
They appear in Radstock in various census however not in 1871?
Can anyone help please?
Thank you in advance for your efforts.
