Glad you are home and recovering. I got tired quite quickly at first and had a heavy feeling in my tummy and needed to lie down quite often, but this eventually went away. A thing they never told me was that my tum would be numb above the scar, but the area got smaller over the next 2 years and is just a small patch now. My scar eventually became almost invisible. A small price to pay for the better quality of life.

Best wishes to you.

Well everything went ok. The gynea ward manager did my assesment, she was ever so nice and went through the whole proceedure with me, from when I get there, to the day I'm discharged. I have got to ring them between 7am and 7.30am on the Wednesday, to see if there is a bed, I can have a light breakfast before 7.30 and then if the bed is available I have to be there at 9am. I'm allowed plain water upto 11.30 and I will have the op in the afternoon. If nothing goes wrong I could be out on the Saturday, Puss I will let you know so that you don't have a fruitless journey.

Thanks for being there for me.

Love
Helen

I suffered badly from the age of 14. I'd even collapse sometimes and was severly anaemic. It took a long time for me to conceive a child, and I miscarried my first baby, but my son was born when I was 21....and Ive been cured ever since! Ive heard other people say that after childbirth their bodies 'healed' themselves, and that certainly was the case for me. Im hoping my daughters don't suffer the same way I did.

Good luck Helen. I had a hysterectomy in 2003. They removed my ovaries too as they found endometriosis and a cyst. I was terrified, but it was nowhere near as bad as I thought and I had no pain after. The scar I have is almost invisible now and it was the best thing that could have happened. It cured my migraines and dragging pains as well as getting rid of all the unpredictability and 'protection' expense.

Good luck Helen, you wont regret it. Sarah, you have had good advice here. INSIST on seeing your GP and if that doesnt work complain to GMC.

Good news Helen, the waiting is nearly over. You will be able to have a good summer (whatever the weather).

Sarah, you need to change your GP and complain via PAL's. Hope that you get improved treatment and feel better soon.
