YG Report 1 Jul 2021 22:09

They've stolen our office milk before now. Followed the milkman on his rounds and we caught one on the cctv at work. Cheeky blighters :-|

We have a big fair at race week in September, but I don't know why this one is there. It's only a small one and I have never hear of them before. Quite unusual for the racecourse to have one in July as there are no race meetings on.

We'll know for sure if there are no problems after they depart on Monday!!

Our son got on the wrong side of some "travellers" they wouldn't leave him and his then girlfriend alone, threatened them with violence, until I told him I my cousins are (gave him the surname)' they left them alone after that. Talk about being a name dropper, worked wonders.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 1 Jul 2021 21:50

Well that makes sense to me :-|. Some of them will thieve the milk out of your tea. We had a fair in the town near us several years back and they were stealing batteries off of lorries. They were caught trying to sell them at a local scrappy along with drain covers and brass plaques. Thank goodness not all of them are trouble as we have a yearly fair( same family every time ) on our playing field and touch wood they have never caused problems

YG

YG Report 1 Jul 2021 21:37

They are asking neighbours about cctv, LG :-) I think the meeting next week will be quite feisty, as the police promised extra patrols after the last one. Admittedly, they can't be in one place all the time, but it is getting ridiculous. The thoughts that are running through peoples' minds at the moment is that the van break ins could be linked to the fairground that has been here all week on the racecourse, which is less than a mile from here.

Evening ZZzzz, we are on an estate but our house is set well back from the road. We have security lights and a camera just in case but after 37 years we have had no problems

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 1 Jul 2021 21:08

Luckily we live in a small cul de sac and people don't know it is here, but then it's only been here 39 years.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 1 Jul 2021 21:01

Evening YG, did anyone get CCTV pictures of the break ins. I would most certainly put one up if you have a lot of trouble near you

YG

YG Report 1 Jul 2021 20:53

Evening everyone :-)

Maz, that is not good being disturbed like that and all the fallout from it as well :-| I would be furious too. I don't know what is the matter with people nowadays. Our loal notice board had about six different people saying that their partners' vans had been broken into overnight, all within 600 yards of each other. All tools removed and their livelihoods affected.

LG, thanks for the sunshine. It has been lovely today, rather hot in fact!! :-) :-)
