Evening everyone :-)
'
Maz, I wouldn't say you're a bit excited about seeing the baby :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
I hope you enjoy all the cuddles you are going to have :-) :-) :-) :-)

ZZzzz, how rude of your sister!! Mind you, at least you tried to speak to her. My brother and I haven't spoken for 20 years and are unlikely to do so!!

Are the diggers out again tonight :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

The weather has been dry but cloudy here today. I think the next 2 or 3 of days are reasonable, then showers on Sunday.

Evening all
I am getting excited now ,
One of my volunteers was pinged today ,so glad wee are not close contacts ,we have a few cases of covid in the area so we need to be vigilant here .
We were busy with lunch today again we made mince and dumplings ,with baked jam roll and custard .we had loads of suet pastry to use up .

I spent most of the day with my Brother having a chin wag about old times growing up like we usually do, the only thing that spoilt it was that I had to speak to my sister but she hung up mid sentence as I was asking how she is, no how are you, or how is hubby, she is just plain selfish.

Afternoon all,
Good here too.

Breezy at the beach, but still warm enough to sit there for fish and chip lunch.

I bet you are supper excited, I'll keep everything crossed for the first of many cuddles to go well xx. Housework? isn't that a swear word!?

Mums Aunt wanted to take her on but her Mum (my great grandmother) wouldn't allow it.

LaGooner Report 10 Aug 2021 19:31

So was my Dad as his Mum dumped him with the local distric nurse then married another fella. Grandad wanted to adopt him but she would not let him :-| so he stayed with the foster family

ZZzzz Report 10 Aug 2021 19:24

Aww that's lovely, I've dug up a few skeletons' mostly on my own because no one knew of my Mums existence because she was illegitimate.

LaGooner Report 10 Aug 2021 19:02

I know all about his birth mother and his birth father, They were not married and it took me 11 years to find Grandad but thanks to a few clues from my 'Auntie' I tracked him down. Unfortunately he died in 1969 the same year as my Dad . I also found Dad's half brother who I still keep in touch with. Plenty of skeletons in the cupboards :-D :-D

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 10 Aug 2021 18:51

It's good that you are close to them and helping with family trees too, have you uncovered skeletons as a result, ie his birth mother? And do you watch Long Lost Families?

LaGooner Report 10 Aug 2021 18:33

We have a few right near us but we always seem to find something else to do :-D. I have just started working on a tree for a relative which I have put on the back burner for ages as I am expecting a phone call to find out how I have got on. I call them Aunties,Uncles and cousins but they are a family my Dad was fostered by for many years after being abandoned by his Mum. I am very close to them and we still keep in touch and see each other.

ZZzzz Report 10 Aug 2021 18:17

There are 2 that are a bit closer to us so we might try one Thursday, after that it will be Monday for the other one.

I haven't been to a garden centre for a while but when we do we usually come out with something :-D. We have one near us that has an Antique centre on site so we will no doubt spend a good bit when we visit

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 10 Aug 2021 14:56

We went to a garden centre but they didn't have what he wanted so we came out with nothing, unusual for him because he doesn't like going somewhere and not getting anything.
