It is indeed ,it is such a lovely building,I am so pleased it was saved.

ZZzzz Report 4 Sep 2021 23:41

It happens a lot, so I'm told anyway it is greed not need.

We have a large listed building here which they want to develope into apartments plus some houses on the land.Mysteriously it caught fire a while back but hard cheese the firemen saved it before it got to grips. I suppose the developer did not want to have to obey the stringent planning laws to do work in it.

ZZzzz Report 4 Sep 2021 23:15

They have no conscience if they do, and yet again it would be £s first.

LaGooner Report 4 Sep 2021 23:12

Well hopefully unless the beggars find a loophole :-|

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 4 Sep 2021 22:54

That's good that you have that, it will stop the greedy from doing what they want.

LaGooner Report 4 Sep 2021 22:51

We have quite a lot of building in the next village but where we are here is in a conservation are so hopefully we will be ok

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 4 Sep 2021 22:45

There was a farm near us that had some sort of thing in place to stop it being built on but some how "they" managed to overcome that to have a lot of houses built there.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 4 Sep 2021 22:38

Hopefully our farmland around us will not be built on. We are on an estate but we have loads of farm fields around us

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 4 Sep 2021 22:33

I think we will have more as time goes on because there are housing estates going up all around us and trees are cut down and fields being built on too.

Nite nite YG, we are watching Dirty Harry again :-D. Sleep well and see you tomorrow. :-D <3.

Evening ZZzzz, we usually have loads of different birds but there is plenty of food in the fields for them at the moment

ZZzzz Report 4 Sep 2021 22:12

We have Magpies, Pigeons, and Robins now and again, there is plenty of food about for them now but come winter we will be suet balls and nuts etc out for them.

YG Report 4 Sep 2021 22:06

We are not on a main road, but it can be busy and the vehicle noise or absence of it was very noticeable during the lockdown. We also have the airport about five miles away, but fortunately it is nothing like Heathrow, but they do occasionally fly overhead,.

I think the robin is still lurking, but is very inobtrusive, so difficult to spot him at times amongst the other birds. Doubtless they will start feeding again when they are struggling to find food!!

There is supposed to be some nice weather coming for a few days before some thunderstorms work their way up to here for next weekend. Typical when I have fur and need to walk her in the park!!!

I am off now, LG. TV is appalling tonight, so might make a drink and read in bed just for 20 minutes or so. I don't think my eyes will stay open much longer than that!!

Sleep well. See you tomorrow :-) <3

I have only seen my little robin friend and the bl***y wood pigeons. I was chatting to an Owl earlier he is a lovely boy. My garden is well away from any traffic so that is not a problem for us.

It will cut my salary down, as if we haven't enough to contend with not having had a rise for 6 years and even then only 1% pa before that for several years.

I had loads of sparrows and dunnocks nestling in the hawthorn every day and they were all out feeding on the grass earlier this week. There must have been 50 or more, but I didn't see any at all yesterday and only two today. A coupe of rooks have been down for the suet balls but that's it. The two blackbirds have disappeared as well. I don't hear the birds chirruping any more now. Is that because of all the traffic again! Another lockdown might be good, but not as severe as the first!! :-D :-D

LaGooner Report 4 Sep 2021 20:54

Our feeders have stayed quite full as there is plenty of food about.
I wonder if they will put that tax on we will have to see :-|

YG

YG Report 4 Sep 2021 20:48

I can't wait to put it out, although a lot of the birds seem to have disappeared!! At least it is a lot cheaper providing their food now :-D :-D

I've just been reading an article online that says Boris is likely to decide to hike the National Insurance rates and now make pensioners who still work start paying NI contributions again. I will be so angry if he does and will never vote for them again. I don't claim any benefits and am still working to keep my head above water and provide one or two luxuries. I don't even have a bl**dy holiday every year :-| :-|

He has been with her almost 2 years now and is very happy, more than we can say for the other one.
Well done you recycling the bird bath , your feathered friends will appreciate it :-D

YG Report 4 Sep 2021 20:24

Evening LG :-)

It's good to hear that baby boy has settled down again now. I'm pleased you like her. That's a good start!!

I had an easy morning, then did a bit of local shopping and came home to start up-cycling a bird bath that R was going to take to the tip. 'It needs a coat of paint, Mum#, said he! :-D :-D :-D :-D

I sanded it down yesterday so its now had its first coat and it is looking good! I have used water based paint as that is what was recommended on the internet, so avoided Hammerite!! It won't last as long, but it should be easy enough to give it another coat next spring if need be :-)
