I haven't done DNA . My Dad never mentioned his Mum or Dad but I did a Poirot and found out little snippets from the foster family and put 2 and 2 together and came up with the answers |

I think it was about 2005, as that is when mum died and I always said I wouldn't start it in her life time because I think she wouldn't want to know nor be very helpful but she wasn't bitter she just accepted that that was her life. |

My Dad was too and deserted by his Mother. He was fostered out and it took me over 11 years to find out who my Grandad was but I did :-D |

I have difficulty with mine because my mum was illegitimate and in an orphanage from the age of 4 and her mum went to Australia 1928 ish but despite that I have loads of info on them both and end up telling family about them. |
