I was working at a playscheme for children with learning disabilities, we all had to go into the hall with the curtains shut as they were concerned that it may frighten the children so I missed all of it!!!

I was at work too and visiting a company. Everyone else vanished to watch, but I couldn't as I was surrounded by confidential papers I couldn't leave.

I was at work and we were given a 45 minutes break to watch the Eclipse..............the eerie silence when all the birds stopped singing as the darkeness passed over is something I don`t think I`ll ever forget.

Can`t believe its 10 years ago.....

We were living here in Kent and just went outside to watch.

I too remember the 'feeling' as well as the sight.

Grandson had a special packed-lunch box with a big sun motif on the side, sent from a food? company

I went round to Mum amd Dads with my sister, youngest daughter and my nephew.

We watched it from their garden...............I remember the excitement and Mum insisting on watching it on the television so her eyeballs wouldn't get burnt! lol

Hello Elizabeth,

I was in London, not far from Paddington and was in the process of commissioning a very large Nursing Home and managing the Induction for a large group of staff. We all went outside to see the eclipse and it was amazing just how dark it was even in London. We took a group photo anfd framed it along with a short description that I had written. I wonder if it is still there> Maybe I should email them and see if anyone who works there now was also there for the eclipse.

Thanks for reminding us

Bridget

Dear All

Hello

This date is the 10th anniversary of the eclipse we had in UK.

Where did you watch it? On TV or outside?

Did you get those special specs from Boots to watch?

Best wishes
xx
