I hope you made me a cup :-0

The trouble with not sleeping is that you start the day tired and it only gets worse.

The weather has cooled down a little the last couple of days. It's now typical early Spring weather - warm in the daytime but chilly at night and early morning. The garden is really wakening up now and looking good. My lillies are sprouting in their pots so that is something to look forward to. My neighbour gave me some dahlia tubers so I will find somewhere for them. Can they grow well in pots?

Tecwyn Report 12 Sep 2013 23:24

I went off to make coffee - sorry.

I get about four hours sleep a night, on and off. I can take more pain killers in the middle of the night, that helps a bit.
I am so annoyed this has happened now, especially with my sister visiting next week. It is a shame for her to see me like this, having not seen me for eight years. It can't be helped.

The pain must be draining, Tec. Are you still not able to sleep?

Good Morning Sue,

I hope that your computer can be repaired and you don't need a new one. I flogged my old laptop to death, but it was seven years old :-D.

The ulcer is no better, in fact it's worse, and very painful to walk now. I am still taking the antibiotics, and hoping they might improve things soon. I go back to the nurses tomorrow.

I'm glad your ATOS appointment went well - let's hope you have a favourable outcome.

I missed Carole again :-(

Linda - I envy you going to Dubrovnic. I have a brother in law who was born on a small island off the coast of Croatia. When he and my SIL have visited his family they fly to Dubrovnik then Spit and then a ferry to the island. It looks beautiful on the island. My BIL's family are all fishermen.

Tec - any improvement with your leg?

Hello everyone - sorry about not chatting yesterday but my computer was playing up and I gave up in the end. We have someone coming on Monday to have a look at it. I'm hoping it doesn't mean a new computer :-(

Tecwyn Report 12 Sep 2013 22:20

I hope you enjoy your trip to Dubrovnic Linda. I think you've been there before, but it is a lovely old town, with interesting buildings, including churches.

Hello Diane,
Hope you get a good reply from ATOS, but you never know with those people.
At least it is behind you now, so all you can do is wait, and hope for the best.
The ulcer is no better, and extremely painful to walk now. I am still taking antibiotics, so hope that may improve things. Go to see the nurses again tomorrow.

Hello Carole - I am going for an eye test soon. I wear varifocals, but wasn't very happy with my last pair. The distance lens is fine, but the reading part is not right. They just don't feel right, so I have used my old ones for reading, and computer.

Hello everyone :-)

Well I finally had my ATOS assessment yesterday, I think it went well as the lady I saw was really nice and understanding ( lets hope it wasn't just an act ) so it's just a case of wait and see. If they don't give me the result my Dr says it should be I will appeal it this time.

Linda sound's like you are having a nice time on your hol's :-) thanks as you will see from the above comment I have finally had my medical assessment.

Tec I wish for your sake your ulcer would start to improve, must be really hard to look after the Duchess while you are in so much pain with your leg :-( I hope you enjoy the visit from your sister :-)

Sue how are you, when does the secretary return, hope thing's are not to difficult for you and other's when she hear's about the changes <3

Hello Berona, Carole, Persie, Amanda and Dianne 2 hope you are all well <3

We did have a nice lunch, by by mid afternoon the storm clouds were gathering. There was a prolonged torrential downpour complete with impressive thunderstorm so we just staid inside and watched it.

Tomorrow we are venturing out on the local bus to visit .Dubrovnik.

I got those polarised lenses in my sunglasses, which is great for sun glare and if you are around water.

I haven't chatted to Sue for a while, we always miss each other :-(
Sending a special hello Sue <3 I hope all is well with you and yours xx

I wonder where Sue is? I think she said her computer was playing up, maybe it has died on her.

There is a bit of a language barrier :-D

I think I could do with some new glasses because really tiny print is difficult to read, but after the performance I had last time I can't face it. I don't think,my eye test is due until the end,of the year in any case. I have prescription sunglasses and find them really useful

Carolee

Carolee Report 12 Sep 2013 11:55

Its a little like thongs and flip flops, Linda. I think also in the UK you have a different word for our Zucchini, you call it a courgette. I only know this from watching cooking programs based in the UK.
We've had this discussion before, I think lol

Glad you are having a nice holiday, its sounds very relaxing.

I picked up my new glasses today, I am very pleased with them. Its nice to be able to see again without straining, the sunglasses make a huge difference too.

~~~~~~~ to everyone <3
LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Sep 2013 11:08
Well why didn't she say so, thank you Carole.
It is a bit overcast here, so we went for a walk along the bay. There is a tiny road literally right on the waters edge with only the odd car on it. It ends up in another small hotel. We ambled along there, looking at the villas and tavernas on the way. It was about 40 minutes each way, which was far enough as it is still hot and humid.
Time for a rest now before lunch, as we are dressed rather than in swimming gear, I think we will try out one of the tavern in the village rather than the hotel
Linda, a skivvie is an under garment, like a singlet/vest with long sleeves...they keep you warm in winter.
What are skivvies Berona? Here a skivvy is an old fashioned word for someone like a kitchen maid or a cleaner.
Berona
Berona Report 12 Sep 2013 06:46
Hello everyone. Beautiful day here to-day. Now mid-afternoon and temp is about 23c with no wind. Hopefully, the lack of wind will help the firefighters put out the bushfires, which are still going, but not a threat to homes as they were a couple of days ago......and spring has just begun!!?!! If we don't get some rain, I dread what summer will be like - although the rural fire brigades work all year to clear the land - but there's a lot of land to be cleared!
If our winter was anything to go by, I hope you get a similar one over on your side of the globe. Ours was the warmest winter on record. I bought five new skivvies in Autumn, and they still have their tags attached! Haven't worn a sweater for two years either. Just a cotton top or golf shirt and a cardigan. I only felt the cold when my blood count went haywire for a couple of weeks, but have been OK otherwise.
