Labradors are notorious for being overweight, Ianto was slightly overweight, but not too bad. Trouble is they are so greedy, and always cadging if there's food around. You need to be really firm, and resist giving them titbits.

Taffy is a very lucky dog. My older brother has a lovely golden Labrador named Cooper. They had to put him on a diet as he was becoming quite heavy. He is starting to lose weight now.

It's horrible out driving in those conditions Sue, you have to be very careful. Glad that it's better today.
We also had torrential rain overnight. I was lying awake in bed listening to it battering the windows. Today was sunshine and showers, very windy, and the sea was rough with a big swell on it.

Taffy will be going home tomorrow when his mother gets home. A lady calls to walk him twice a day. He is a lucky dog to have all these people caring for him.

Your sister sounds like a lovely lady - I'm sure you will have a great day together.

We had an awful wind and rain storm last night and we were out driving in it :-( We went for dinner at our daughter and SIL's home when it was just raining but as the evening wore on a strong wind came up and the rain came down in buckets. Still drizzling this morning but the rain has gone.

Good Morning Sue,

Yes I am a teeny weeny bit excited about seeing my sister for the first time in eight years. I am not close to my other siblings, but she has always been special to me since we were children.
She is the kind of person that radiates fun and laughter, a very bubbly personality, and a very caring person too.

My leg is very painful, but as you say, it will be worth it if now things are being done right. Very awkward getting about so I think I'll tie a skateboard to my foot :-D

Hello :-D

Another company bites the dust, Rollo :-(

Tec - that sounds horribly painful but at least you seem to be getting somewhere. Hopefully things will start looking up soon. Are you just a little bit excited about your sister's visit? :-D

Oh dear poor TEC, that sounds so painful <3

I hope you will see the sister every time now until it is sorted.

A buffet lunch is a good idea as you can do it before hand and have more time to chat. If Taffy is going to be there, I hope you have spoken to him about not biting your guests.

Hi Tec :-)

So glad that you managed to see the Sister. Hopefully things will start to improve. You must have been in agony while she was seeing to it, but actually, the fact that she went to town on it, so to speak, was probably a very good thing.

It's wonderful that you will be seeing your sister tomorrow. Have a wonderful time, but don't over do it.

No I haven't been locked in the cupboard.

Finally I am getting somewhere. I managed to see the Sister today, by request.
She was "surprised" that no swab had been taken before antibiotics were prescribed.
So now wants to leave it a week, to see if the antibiotics I finished yesterday have any effect. Then a swab will be taken and the appropriate antibiotics issued if necessary.
Also trying a different primary dressing that hopefully will start to work. She did a very thorough clean up job, that had me climbing the walls, in silence of course :-D.
That's the good news, the bad news is that now I have two ulcers about three cms apart. Also because the Sister was merciless, and really went to work on the wounds, I can hardly walk at all now. Still it will be worth it now that the Sister has taken over.

Looking forward to my sister visiting tomorrow. I had things to do before she arrived, but I've had that now.
I'm making a buffet type lunch, and can do that sitting at the worktop before they arrive. It should be a good day :-D

Berona maybe your new doctor will turn out to be a long lost cousin :-D

I hope your weather is better tomorrow Linda - it's pretty wild here, showers, very windy, and decidedly cool tonight. We have the heating on.

Your new doctor is going to think you a bit strange Berona if you start quizzing her about her great grandparents. You could do her tree for her and swap it for some blood tests.

I have to be careful with the predictive text because when I type Berona, it wants to substitute heroin.

We had a huge thunder storm during the night and it is overcast and drizzly this morning, hopefully it will brighten up later on

Carolee Report 16 Sep 2013 08:40

There's plenty here Berona and I don't mind sharing. It hasn't let up since about 10am this morning, it doesn't look like stopping any time soon.

That's a good omen about your new doctor sharing your name, I hope you get on well with her :-)

Berona Report 16 Sep 2013 08:11

Are you sending the rain up my way, Carole? It was a beautiful morning but gradually deteriorated. My cat went out about ten minutes ago and came in again very soon. I put my hand out to her and felt that her back was wet! Looked out and saw a fine mist spray coming down. Didn't last long, but at least it's a sign! A reason, too, for why my knees are aching!

Haven't got to my new doctor yet. Old Dr. said when I told him the name of my new doctor, he would 'send' my records to them. So, I made an appointment with the new one for tomorrow (Tues), then rang the old one and his receptionist said my records wouldn't be ready until next Thursday! Now, I've changed it to the following Tuesday. I still have to meet the new doctor. At this stage, I'm more interested in her name. If it is her birth name, we might be connected somehow as it's the same as mine.

Hello everyone,

Glad to know your heart is still beating Silvia :-)

Diane, a cherry ripe isn't anything like a bounty, the only thing they have in common is coconut. A cherry ripe is cherry flavored with bits of coconut, covered in dark chocolate and very yummy :-)
Linda, Sue and I hid them all in the huge pantry, there's some behind the biscuit tin :-) Help yourself to them, your welcome :-D

Its chucking it down here - raining very hard, and the roads are treacherous. I'm glad I'm home and safe :-)

Carole :-)

I meant to say that I finally got to the Medical Clinic last Monday with the little collection of requisitions I've collected from the doc during the last 5 or 6 weeks. I could never connect going over there with time to do it :-)

So ............... I had bloods taken, and an ECG, which proved that my heart was beating at approximately 8:35 am September 9

I had another appointment with the doc on Thursday afternoon, to check that the new bp drug was working as it should ................ and the blood results were in.

I was really chuffed!

Blood sugar levels good ................ which means I've managed to keep them down since the "pre-diabetic" scare last year

cholesterol levels good ............ the medication is working!

and liver enzymes were good ............ which means the new bp medication isn't interacting with anything else.

The heart results weren't in ....... so all I know is that I was definitely alive at 8:35 am on Monday :-D
