I hope so too Tec after the nice warm weather they have been enjoying the last two weeks. Hasn't their holiday gone fast?
The children are very excited although Drew always misses his mum - they are very close. As he gets older he is happier to go off without his mum - I guess he's growing up.
I intend sorting out the wardrobe in the bedroom as it's untidy. OH said not to throw out anything without him checking first :-D That means all his horrible old shirts and shorts will go back :-(

Good Morning Sue,
Glad the weather is fine, hope it stays that way for the happy campers. How excited the children must be. What an adventure to go camping with their step dad and Grandad - lucky children :-)
I may have to use the mobility scooter to get about in town. Silly not to really, it doesn't get any use and the Duchess has only used it once, maybe twice this year. I am fortunate in that I can park quite close to the door of the supermarket, but the problem is if I have several calls to make up and down the High St.
Today was dull and grey here, but not cold - I hope the sun is shining for Linda when she lands tomorrow.

Hello everyone :-)
Tec - I also thought that at times you could use the Duchess's mobility scooter. You could have taken Taffy for a walk :-)
Lovely and sunny this morning - good weather for the happy campers to set off for their trip.

Diane - I understand what you are suggesting re mobility scooter, but you are right about my supermarket not being as big as those in the main towns. The ailses are not that wide, and usually obstructed with those cages they bring the stuff out of the warehouse to fill the shelves. I can imagine the chaos I would cause zooming about on a scooter :-D It occurred to me on Friday that while I was struggling to get along the High St in pain, the mobility scooter was sitting wasted in the back of the car. So next time I have to go, I may well use it. I can always put L plates on.............. :-D

Hello Linda,
Sounds like you've had a nice relaxing holiday. Hope you enjoy your last dinner at the hotel this evening. It is not cold here, but dull and cloudy today. The weatherman say it will warm up over the next few days - though not as warm as where you are. Have a good flight tomorrow.

Another nice, pleasant Saturday to-day. 22c again.
Diane - glad to hear you have the company of your granddaughter now. You won't have time for feeling depressed. The little dog will be good company for you too. Take your mind off Flick, who I suppose you still miss. Hope the dog doesn't make a mess of your floors now that you have been refurbishing, etc.
To everyone else - hope you are having (or have had) a nice day.

Hi :-)
sorry I didn't come back after my last post but I got engrossed on my Bedroom Tax group on FB, thing's are starting to look up with the Bedroom tax now that we have the support of the UN Special Rapporteur Raquel Rolnik who has told the Goverment she think's it is wrong and an unfair cut in people's benefit's. Now suddenly the paper's and the TV new's are starting to publicise about it more and the Labour leader Ed Miliband has said if they get in the will get rid of it. I think that this Tory goverment may repeal it before the next election as they are running scared now that more people are aware ( thanks to groups like the one I'm in ) of the real facts and not the media properganda that the goverment has been feeding the people.
Yes Sue you are right she is so cute, have you seen the photo I have put on my FB status :-) It is nice to have the company of my grand-daughter, I'm hoping that it will help me to get out more as having her here she can accompany me to my daughter's or son's when she is able to. :-) Glad to hear you had a nice meal with the family for your birthday.
Tec I really wish I could help with your garden even if it would be just for a short time each day, could you not use the Duchesses electric wheelchair to go round the supermarket, in our's they have them for costumer's to use if they have difficulty getting round and there are special trollies that can be attached to the front of the chair's to put your shopping in, but I'm guessing your shops are not as big as our's so don't see the need to supply them. I really hope thing's improve soon for you <3
Hi Persie, if I sit to long I too feel stiff when I get up and do a hobble for the first few step's but the main problem is after walking for about 15mins I have a lot of pain in the base of my back and right across my hip's mainly caused by the prolapsed disc as it presses on nerves in my back and the sciatic nerve down my right leg so this is why I am unable to do long walks, until my disc prolapsed I only had a problem first thing in the morning when I got out of bed I would be stiff until I'd walk round for a bit and if I sat to long. About 21/2yrs ago I had an injection into my left hip for arthritis and it worked brilliant but when I went back for another one the consultant refused to do a second one as the more you have the less likely a hip replacement ( in the future ) will be successful.
~~~~~~ to anyone still around or who pops in later <3
Mmm....fresh peas. My neighbours grandchildren ate all of hers before she could harvest them.
Hi Persie - I'm glad you messaged Jude. I sent her a message to say I would contact you if you didn't come on. I hope Susan is ok.
I do not want sardines on toast :-0
Good Morning Persie,
I would love you to come over and do my pruning anytime - I know it would be done with elegant finesse. When the Duchess used to do such things she was ruthless, and it looked like someone had been through with a machette :-D.
Cheese on toast would be nice - I shall remember to have that for lunch tomorrow :-)
That poor boy from the village runs away every time he sees me now :-D it's Linda's fault :-D.
They sell bags of mushroom compost in the garden centre here - I've never tried it, but I don't grow anything sensible. Although we had a good crop of peas and beans this year from seeds that Amanda sent me earlier in the year. I have saved some seeds for next year.
Came on, saw my name mentioned so messaged Jude.. now where was I..
Tec, I really do wish I could come over and help you with your supplies etc... not sure how you would feel about me doing your pruning but I think I am better than my OH who does a ripsh** and bust approach.
H'actually Diane I am probably more invigorated after a long walk, than sitting on my posterior on trains and cafes with only short walks in between.. must be something to do with endorphins. My legs ache, knees are not that happy and I get out of chairs like I am 93 sometimes but then once I straighten up I am fine.
Coffee now.. but I do not have cinnamon swirls.. can do toast and vegemite/cheese/tomatoes.. or sardines.
Yes they did, Tec :-)
You need a gardener to get in there and tidy up for winter. That poor boy from the village :-)
We are getting a delivery of mushroom compost for the veggie garden. It's very rich and the bonus is that we will often get a few mushrooms coming up although it is spent compost.
I hope the weather stays nice for the happy campers - what fun they will have. I remember them going before.
It was a lovely sunny day here too, and no wind. We are in for a few nice days apparently, so maybe an Indian Summer. Perfect weather for putting the garden to bed for the winter, like trimming hedges etc, and pruning stuff back, but of course I can't do it at the moment :-0
Oh dear Tec - it certainly isn't getting any better. I do hope that you get the right antibiotic to sort your leg out.
Lovely sunny day today. I hope it stays like this as OH, SIL and grandchildren are going camping for a few days. It is school holidays for the next two weeks.
Good Morning Sue,
How nice to go out for a family meal to celebrate your birthday - of course the children had to be included on your birthday.
Unfortunately I had to go shopping today, so no rest for my leg. Actually I was in trouble because it is so painful to walk now, or stand up for long. Anyway I only got the absolute necessities. I can do nothing tomorrow hopefully
Hello everyone :-)
Jude - you are always welcome on the thread :-)
Linda - your holiday seems to have gone so fast :-0
Tec - hope your day has been good and you have managed to rest your leg.
Diane - you know you have fallen in love with Coco.
Last night we went out to a very nice restaurant that we haven't been to before. My daughter and SIL have been there often and suggested it for a birthday dinner. I asked for the children to be there as they are always so excited about birthdays. They were so well behaved and their table manners were great.
