"I just get on with it" is a good policy to live by.

Leant this from my mum when my father developed dementia, and despite her own ill health, including leg ulcers, she just got on with it for two hard years before he was taken into care.

Jemima Sue is the first one up in her street - she likes the morning quiet, as do I.

I did something awful this morning. I had to get up at 3am - read until 7-30am, then decided to try to sleep till 8-30am.
I woke up and nearly died when I discovered it was 11am. :-( so had to wake the Duchess up and get her organised with her medication, insulin etc.
What a way to start the day :-D

It's amazing what we cope with when we have to. I remember my daughter saying that she was fed up with people asking how she coped with a toddler and twin babies. Her stock answer was "I have no choice - I just get on with it".

Yes Sue - thank you for asking.

Lots of things are being ignored. I think I mentioned that I had some frozen ready meals delivered as I can't stand cooking and preparing meals. They are very good despite my initial reservations. Obviously not the same as home made, and more expensive, but worth it. Just ten minutes in the microwave.
I can't be hanging the washing on the line, even if it's a nice day, so everything is going in the tumble dryer.
My daughter has been busy with SILs father's funeral over the past couple of weeks, but if this situation continues I will ask her to do a big shop for me and bring it over next week.
So we are coping really. You do if you have to

Good Morning Sue,

Glad the happy campers are back, would be great fun to hear their stories :-D

I too was hoping the antibiotics would have been working by now. They finish on Sunday, but sometimes they are effective after you've taken the full course.
Taking so many pain killers, I'm like a zombie around the place :-D

Hello Jemima and Tec :-)

You busy girl, Jem. Yes the happy campers are back with lots of photos and tales to tell :-)

Tec - I was hoping that the antibiotics may be kicking in (no pun intended) and you would be feeling a little better. It's going to take time I think.

Hello Jemima,

Wow - you have been busy with the Parish Records. It is good when you find new info.
Your No 1 Grand daughter sounds like a very talented and level headed girl. I am also left handed, but not very good at drawing or painting, which is strange as my grandfather was a very accomplished artist. The talent came out in my grand daughter who is an excellent artist, although has gone on to do something entirely different.

My leg doesn't seem any better I'm afraid, and is still extremely painful to walk.

Hi Everyone :-) :-)

Been Busy- bought the GR'S Parish Records for half price as my Platinum Subscription has only just over 2 months to run. I have found many baptism records for family members in Pembrokeshire including my 3x Great Grandmother- Elizabeth Codd in 1793 Nolton. I have also found the Marriage Banns for my Great Grandparents in Hertfordshire.

Granddaughter 1 came over last night, to spend some time with her brother but he fell asleep! So she did her homework on his computer instead!
She is dyslexic, but works hard in school. She is a very good artist, as is common in left handed and dyslexic people. She brought over 2 drawings, one coloured and one pencil sketch, of a squirrel jumping onto a branch of a tree. It was excellent.
She has been form captain since she started Secondary School.. She's in year 9 now, so this is the 3rd time. She has also been appointed as a school counselor. This means other children in her year can go to her to talk about their problems. She is in a team that can then help if they can.

Granddaughter 2 still has the virus that's kept her off school this week.
Daughter brought Granddaughter 4 and Baby over earlier. He's now 14 and a half pounds!

That's my news- How are you all?
