Get the GP to come to you and the nurses as well. I know you said that you didn't want to bother the nurses while you could get to the surgery, but it is your turn to have them come to you now

Tecwyn Report 1 Oct 2013 21:00

They sell nice nightgowns in M&S - you Don't have to go about in that old thing. Did you get it in a charity shop?

Tecwyn Report 1 Oct 2013 20:57

The nurse will see for herself the pain I'm in - it's very obvious - I will ask for an effective pain killer as you suggest, though she may refer me to my GP again.

As you know, my mother had this problem, and she took morphine.

I think I will turn to drink :-D :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 1 Oct 2013 20:50

Make sure you tell her how much pain you are in and that the pain killers are not working, ask for a prescription for something like Oromorph

A Victorian nightgown? I'm surprised the moths haven't eaten it :-D.

You were very silly to even contemplate cinema duty - you need to rest - be told.

I am no better I'm afraid - in severe pain now, and painkillers don't last long though I'm on maximum dose. Doing nothing except meals, those frozen ones that you pop in the microwave for ten minutes, and I can sit in the kitchen watching those. I was supposed to go for an eye test in Dolthingy but had to cancel today, least of my worries.

The nurse is coming here in the morning to do a swab, hopefully that will get to the path lab in time - unless they walk with it.

Hello Tec, I ran out of steam after dinner,so I had to retire again. It is fine because I am suitably attired in a Victorian button up nightgown

I was going to go to cinema duty because one of the team is on holiday, but I felt so ill, I couldn't go. Luckily not many people are turning up for whatever it is, so the other two can manage

How are you today? Any better?

Glad to see that you are up and running today Linda, well maybe not exactly running yet, but you know what I mean.

Been a lovely day here, sunny and mild, though still windy.

Sorry Sue, I looked in earlier on, but no one was here.

Everytime new records come out Jem, I keep looking for extra bits for my tree, but I never seem to find any. I must make a visit to Durham Records Office, I keep saying I will but keep putting it off.

I am back in the land of the living today, or at least partly so. I got up this morning, but all I want to do is sit down.

OH brought a large bag of tomatoes back from the allotment the other day and they needed using,so in between sits, I have spent the morning getting all the bits and pieces ready and now I have a large pan of tomato, onion and basil pasta sauce on the go. That needs to simmer for about an hour and a half, ten once it is cold, I will blitz it and freeze it.

It is still fairly warm here Berona, about fifteen degrees which is not bad for the start of Ocober

Hello Berona :-)

Same here Sue. Started out hot and very windy. Wind continued to mid afternoon, then the forecast 31 changed it's mind and turned cool - but at least, the wind died down. Very calm now.

Just a quick Hello Sue :-)

I'm using my Grandsons PC as that is where the printer is. I'm downloading and printing out the brilliant Parish records that I have found, which prove, that the theories that I have had for a long time re family connections etc, are true.

I did find a sad bit of information. I know that you will understand how this upset me (when we talked on your Story Tellers Thread). I found the Baptism Record for a 3x Great Uncle that I didn't know about, Henry Raymond, the eldest son of my 3x Great Grandparents, and then his Burial Record aged 14.

On the foot of the page, the recorder had written about Henry and another 27 year old man, John Cox, the entry before Henry's, the following-

"Nos 70 and 71 was drowned in Nolton Haven by a small sail boat upseting decidently, they being colliers, not knowing how to manage her".

His poor mother had not long buried a baby boy, and now her first born son at 14- the same age as my Grandson!

How are you and your family today Sue?

I love it on the extremely rare occasion when my two grown up babies are here at the same time. I love going to bed knowing we are all under the same roof
