I was also wondering if it could be pleurisy.

I meant to say hello to Mersey - nice to see you :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Oct 2013 22:46

That could be pleurisy Diane

http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pleurisy/Pages/Introduction.aspx

It is when the fluid in the layers surrounding the lungs becomes infected. It feels like sand paper when you breathe in, I had it last year, or was it the year before?

I had a bladder infection which morphed into a kidney infevtion

Hello Diane - poor you :-(. You may also need antibiotics for that cough as you may have a chest infection.

Linda - we are going to have a quiet day before the tribe arrives :-D

Hello Linda :-)

Good night Tec hope you are able to sleep and I hope you get swap test results very quickly this time :-)

Amanda I'm so sorry to hear the sad news about your daughters twins, hope she is coping ok and I know you will as always be there to support her through this <3

Linda sorry to hear you have been so ill, as I have not been well myself I missed what what was the cause for you to be on such strong antibiotics. I hope you will be well enough for your visit to your daughter's next week :-)

Sue you must be getting excited about your family visit and looking foward to having them all together :-)

Jem you sound as though you are very busy with family research and excited with what you have found :-)

Well I'm still full of cold and have nearlly lost my voice, the constant coughing has made my ribs sore and feels as though my lungs are rubbing against the inside of my ribs :-( this may sound like a silly question .... can your lungs get inflamed through coughing that they do actually rub against the inside of ribs when you cough ?

Hello Sue, I am fine, I sat at the desk in the computer room to sort the drawers out, so it wasn't hard work. I only feel "off" when I am standing up

Have you anything nice planned for today?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 2 Oct 2013 22:35

Tec gone off to bed already? I hope he manages to get some sleep <3

You've been busy today Linda - hope you haven't overdone it :-|

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Oct 2013 20:53

Then you need to ring him tomorrow

I hope you get some sleep

Tecwyn

Play nicely everyone.

Goodnight,

There are hundreds of books here. I'm sure some could go, but many I can't part with. Lots belong to the Duchess, but I don't think she knows what's there now.

The doctor never rang back, but it is possible he wasn't there today. Maybe he will call back tomorrow.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Oct 2013 18:35

There aren't that many books, the bookcases are they type with doors half way up, so they are used for storage. Apart from a few special books which I keep, no more than a couple of shelves, I get rid of books once I have read them.

How did you get on with the doctor when he rang back?

How exciting to have a new stair carpet, but I don't envy you having to move all those books and furniture. Books are incredibly heavy when you have lots of them.
The problem when emptying a room is finding somewhere else to put it all temporarily.
We had to have miles of stair carpet here. Along the ground floor hall 28ft, two staircases, and two landings. It won't be getting changed in a hurry :-D

Pouring with rain here now, forecast three inches overnight.

Well off to sort dinner now, courtesy of Wiltshire Farm Foods. :-D

I should jolly well think that they will be coming out to you in future.

If I am having a mid life crisis, then that means I am going to live until I am 128, not sure about that :-S

I have spent today sorting out the drawers in the study as they were in a mess. I just have the last one to finish off.

We also popped out and bought a new carpet for the stairs, landing and study. There is an excellent carpet shop/warehouse in town. A quick look round was all it took, they are coming to measure up tomorrow, but OH is only just starting the painting, so it will be a while before we are ready ifor the carpet to go down. There are three full height book cases in the study as well as the filing cabinet and computer table, they will all have to come out so the new carpet can be put in, won't that be fun. :-(

Hello Berona, How are you?

The leg isn't very good, but never mind, I have another one :-D I am now reduced to hobbling around on a walking stick :-(

As for Linda - well what can I say? Yesterday she was parading round in an old Victorian night gown. Today she is being seductive in a pink fluffy creation. I am not surprised that the postman keeps beating a path to her door :-D
It would be no good me pointing out the error of her ways - it is too late. I think she is having a mid-life crisis. ;-)

Hello Linda, I assume that you are now decently dressed.
The nurse arrived at 8-45am, but as I had been up since 5am I was ready for her. She did another swab, which hopefully will reach the path lab in time. Also going to speak to my GP about stronger pain killers. So I am waiting for a phone call.
The nurse said that in future they will come out to me, instead of me going to the hospital.
Driving there is no problem with the automatic, it's walking the long corridor that is the killer.

Hello to all. Nice day here. Not too hot and not windy like it has been on previous days.
Tec - how is the leg? Doesn't sound too good. Please rest it and take every care. By the way, I think you should have a fatherly (well, maybe brotherly) talk to Linda. A postman doesn't come knocking three times a day unless there is a very specific reason! (you know what I mean). Chatting to him in her fluffy dressing gown too! What has she been learning on those trips away???

Amanda - so sad to learn about your daughter's twins. She will need all the support you can give - but I know you will do that anyway.

Could be :-D

Well, I had better go and get dressed as my toes are getting cold, I know it is 11am, but it is only an hour since I woke up, so when you look at it that way, it doesn't sound as bad.
