LindainHerriotCountry Report 3 Oct 2013 09:16

Good morning,

I hope your little op goes well Persie

Hello to Allan and Mersey

I am up early because the man is coming to measure up for the carpets this morning and OH is out walking. He probably will not come until late morning, but if I hadn't got up, he would have been here first thing of course

Nurse Sue you are sacked for not giving me my medication correctly. I thought that I had finished the antibiotics last night, I actually only took two yesterday. OH asked me if I was sure because if I had a weeks worth, I should still be taking them. I have just looked in the empty box and found another strip :-(

Sadly you're right Allan :-(

You take care, Persie. If need be you can come into the sick bay with Tec, Linda and Diane.

Yes sir ma'am Mersey...

It's nuffin ya muffin.. I will be fine. :-S :-) Nearly book review time so hope you have all your homework done... xx P

Allan.. saw earlier where you said your daughter was coming over to this side of the ditch.. Glad she is enjoying it.. like all places when we are good we are very very good.. but sometimes something awful happens to travellers and then we are horrid.. Not just the weather but sometimes the people as well.

Tec will like to hear from you Allan.. I forget that you and Jem are on all these word games together..

Persie :-) :-)

Allan Report 3 Oct 2013 07:37

Good evening Sue and Persie :-)

Persie, sorry to hear about the op, whether minor or not :-(

My daughter and her partner are currently in NZ, in the South Island. They return back home in about 9 days having spent four weeks there. She is absolutely rapt with NZ.

I'll call back later and try to catch up with Tec.

Jemimia has made me feel a bit guilty for not keeping in touch :-(

Take care

Allan

Persephone Report 3 Oct 2013 07:24

Good heavens no I am going in the morning probably be back home within about four hours not even an overnight stay with brekkie thrown in...

Made me laugh though.. after anaesthetic... not to go home on public transport, not to drive, not to have alcohol and not to sign legal documents..

Then of course a responsible person is to bring me home... that is a worry in itself... knowing him he will want to go to Bunnings or somewhere.

Persie - do I have to fly to NZ and look after you. I'm already on call should I have to go to the UK :-0

If I even have a hint of a cough.. I get out the Gees Linctus.. and a couple of doses of that opiate seems to knock it on its head... I have only had one cold since I first got Asthma and that caused an Asthma attack.. I think it was the air filtering system on the plane back from Wellington at the time that caused that one and I had to go to hospital and on the nebulizer a few times and then okay again.

I have a flu injection every year.. it is free for anyone who has had asthma.

I have to go and have minor surgery next week but they will be giving me an anaesthetic so saw the aneasthetist today and my airways are very clear, (didn't have my head checked to see if that was clear as well) and my heart is doing Boody-boom boody-boom boody-boom-boom-boom as it is supposed to do.

Tec you do concern me.. what is with modern science that they cannot treat your leg properly?

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Oct 2013 23:13

I think so Diane, I know it is difficult with a cough because it is caused by a virus and of course antibiotics don't work on them, so you just have to wait until you get better, but sometimes you get a secondary bacterial infection and that is when you do need antibiotics

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 2 Oct 2013 23:12

No wonder it's painful - off to the doctors, Diane.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Oct 2013 23:10

Yes, if I remember correctly, it took two lots to shift it. I remember the nurse saying that the two layers should slide over each other, but that if the fluid is infected, they rub together so make a sound like sand paper when you listen through the stethescope

Diane

Diane Report 2 Oct 2013 23:09

Linda that is were mine is at the bottom of the rib cage, just read your link (btw thanks for that ) and as it has been painfull for about 3 days when I am coughing I think a visit to the Dr's would be a good idea. When I inhale or exhale my chest is wheezing as well.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 2 Oct 2013 23:07

Did you have antibiotics then Linda?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Oct 2013 23:03

My pain was at the front of my lungs at the bottom when I had it

Diane

Diane Report 2 Oct 2013 23:00

Thanks girls I wondered that myself but thought the pain was more in the back than the front which is were my rib pain is.

Linda I know you enjoy your hols but it seems every time you either go away or visit your daughter you come home and end up with some sort of infection or bug :-(

Sue that sounds like a good idea to relax before they all arrive :-)

Berona I feel we never get a chance to natter to you much these days, maybe all that will change when our clock's go back later this month :-) hope you are well and managing ok <3

Hello Mersey :-) nice to see you post on the thread, as I very rarely venture onto the other threads it is a while since I spoke to you and hope you are well <3
