At the moment most words seem to begin with H or W. Her sister is called Wesme and she has an Uncle Wilip.

Hello Jem, Eve was fine when we actually went because she was watching Peppa Pig. With the new baby, it is difficult for her mum to give her lots of attention, so I spent all the time playing with her

Hi Sue and Linda :-) :-)

I was also concerned. It is not like Tec not to be on the Aussie Thread even if only for a short while. I do hope he and the duchess are ok.

What kind of a day have you had Sue?

Linda- I was reading about Esme's feeding problems. How terribly hard it must be. You must be worn out now! Her poor parents- How do they cope? They must be so tired too.
How did Eve cope with Hanma going home? She will miss you. It's good she can talk to you on Skype though.

I will have an early night. My arms and legs are aching from climbing all over the top of the soft play area yesterday. eve was scrabbling up like a mountain goat, saying "Come on Hanma"

Esme is twelve weeks old now. She is awake more often now and likes watching her cot mobile.

She still refuses to drink any milk by mouth, she just cries as soon as they try.She will take a little thickened milk form a spoon, but obviously can't be fed like that. They are going to start weaning her at four months rather than the usual six months. In the meantime all the milk has to go in through the tube.

When you say it like that, it sounds easy, but it is a complicated procedure They have to take the stopper from the tube and attach a syringe. They then draw some fluid back from her stomach and test it on a pH strip to make sure it acidic. That shows the tube is in her stomach and it is safe to put the milk down Each feed takes about forty minutes, then they have to put some water down the tube to wash it out.

As she only has three hours from the start of one feed to the start of the next, it is absolutely relentless for her parents.Plus three times a day,she has to have anti reflux medicine put down the tube half an hour before the feed. It is really difficult holding her with one hand, especially when she is squirming around and holding the syringe of milk up in the air with the other

They are trying all sorts of different combinations of prescription high calorie milks and breast milk to see if they can find something which doesn't cause her so much pain. the latest theory is that she may have a dairy and soya intolerance. so my poor daughter is on a dairy and soya free diet as well. She seemed to be in slightly less pain on the last formula which is already predigested, she is still being sick after most feeds though. The new formula smells awful, she managed to get four out of the five jumpers I had taken with me

Non of the messing about with the milk is doing anything to find the underlying cause for the problem. the geneticists just run more tests all of the time, but it could take years to find the answer and in the mean time, there is the ongoing problem of trying to feed her

Hello, I am back in the land of the living, although I must admit to having a really long lie in the is morning :-)

I have played non stop since we went down there, that involves sitting on the wooden floor and playing one to one with Eve. When she wakes up on a morning, she opens her bedroom door and calls for her parents, she can't get out because they have a gate across the door. Yesterday morning, her mum went to get her and was greeted with "No not you, I want hanma" For some strange reason, she has stopped saying grandma and I am now hanma. Her mum delivers her to hanma rather rapidly on a morning, I have noticed :-D

Yesterday we took her to ballet and soft play.Soft play is somewhat of a misnomer as it is one of those three storey net and rope adventure grounds. She had me right up at the top, my poor old bones are aching this morning.

When we were getting ready to leave last night, she told me that she wanted me to stay at her house for ever and ever.

Tec - not good to know that you are not well. Is it the leg giving you a lot of pain? or is it the medications? - or both?
Hope the Duchess is better than she was. You're not having a very good time at the moment, are you? My thoughts are with you a lot.

Thinking also of Amanda and her girl. I hope you are all coping and that your daughter is improving both physically and mentally, after the trauma.
