SueMaid Report 17 Oct 2013 11:40

Thank you Linda - I can't wait to sleep in that mouldy old tent in your jungle like backyard. What an adventure that was :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Oct 2013 11:38

That would be lovely and of course you are welcome to take up residence again

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 17 Oct 2013 11:36

I certainly will - perhaps next year. We are seriously talking about a trip to Italy and the UK :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Oct 2013 11:28

No, nothing Sue, I think you should have words with him :-|

SueMaid Report 17 Oct 2013 11:26

Fancy going off rambling while you are ill :-0 You weren't left sandwiches and a flask of coffee?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Oct 2013 11:18

It is indeed Sue.

I am hungry, but it isn't lunchtime yet, on the other hand, I have hardly eaten anything since I was ill, so maybe I can eat early. OH has gone rambling so I am fending for myself

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 17 Oct 2013 11:10

I was going to suggest that, Linda. What a worry :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Oct 2013 10:55

That's because you are so far away Sue :-)

If we don't hear from him, by tonight, I will try phoning his daughter so we can keep in touch with him

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 17 Oct 2013 10:51

By now I am hoping that our Tec is being cared for by the medical people and the Duchess is also being cared for. I feel so far away :-(

Stay safe Sue,

Linda, sorry to hear that you are not feeling 100%. Hopefully it will be a short lived infection

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Oct 2013 10:46

I get a bug every time I go down south Sue, never mind.

I hope you will be OK, the fires sound dreadful

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 17 Oct 2013 10:43

Hello Linda - I'm sorry you're feeling so ill. You've just got over a nasty infection and now this :-(

Allan I've just been outside and I can smell the smoke. We have been warned to look out for burning embers and leaves blowing on houses and sheds. There is a strong wind blowing so that can't be helping.

Allan

Allan Report 17 Oct 2013 10:28

Sue, having worked for a local authority a couple of years ago assessing damage to properties caused when a major bush fire went through, just to see the damage to the properties was terrible without even thinking about the loss of personal possessions and family memories.

then there was the loss of the wildlife :-( :-(

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Oct 2013 10:26

Oh Tec, I do hope they will listen and give you some good medical care this time and while they are at it, they can sort your ulcers out

You are right Diane, I caught a bug down south. Eve was coughing and sneezing and saying she had a sore mouth, which I think means sore throat. Her nose was streaming but she had a very effective two sleeved wiping technique to cope with that. Just about the first thing she did was sneeze in my face.

I have been really ill for about 36 hours now. I have a sore throat, swollen glands, raging temperature and I just ache all over. I am coming through it and will soon pick up

I hope that you have stopped bleeding all over the place Sylvia

I haven't seen anything about the bush fires Allan, but like you, I feel so sorry for thr people involved

Hello everyone :-)

Allan - we drove up to Sydney with my brother and SIL. When we came out of a building about three in the afternoon there was a dreadful lot of smoke in the sky and the sun was an orange ball. This was most of the way home. A major highway in the highlands has been closed due to the fires :-(

Allan

Allan Report 17 Oct 2013 10:07

Hello all,

I've just been watching the news about the bushfires in NSW.

What a terrible thing to happen so early in the season, and my heart goes out to those who have lost their homes.

We've now been in OZ for thirty one years, and I still can't get over the ferocity of these fires.

Tec, if you look in, I do hope that the 'caring' services have listened to you and carried out the appropriate tests.

Meanwhile, our weather continues cool, and I'm not complaining!

Huia Report 17 Oct 2013 09:15

Thank you Mersey. I hope you will have a lovely day. Watch your speed when out on the road. Don't forget all the other idiots out there!

I hope Tec has managed to get help this morning.

Good night to my fellow downunderers, good day to all the up toppers.
