I feel quite a bit better, I have been up all day, I am fine as long as I am sitting down and as long as I take paracetamol

It is Shrewsbury, but the Duchess is ill with her chest infection, I assume his son in law will come over for the weekend,so he could look after the Duchess if she is too ill to visit

I guess it depends on which hospital he has gone to. I thought he had gone to Shrewsbury but I can't remember why I thought that. Whichever hospital he is in I hope he is getting the best of care.

Yes I will do, I assume she will have managed to see him, although with the Duchess that may have been difficult

So sad when you think of all the homes destroyed :-(

Are you contacting Tec's daughter tomorrow? He is never far from my thoughts.

Sorry Linda- we were outside looking at all the smoke. The smell is horrible and to me it means destruction. I worry for the firefighters too - what a horrendous job they have :-(

Outside is covered in smoke from the fires over the mountain. This is a hazard for people who have breathing problems. It's going to get worse before it gets better :-(

OH saw the doctor this morning ................... yes, it was basal cell carcinoma. BUT we already knew that was the problem with the tips of his ears and also on both cheeks near his ears. So, nothing different.

All the doc said, was talk to the dermatologist when you next see him ........... which is next February!

Basal cell carcinoma is the least worrying of cancers .............. usually doesn't penetrate below the basal layer of the skin (hence the name). All skin areas just have to be watched carefully


I changed the dressing on my leg this morning ............ it looks OK, and I now just have an ordinary plaster on it.


We have heavy fog again today .................... yesterday it burnt off about noon, and we had 3 or 4 hours of sun before the fog came back in.

That is also supposed to happen today, but I'm not sure ............... it's almost 1 pm and no sign of it lifting.

The airport is still operating though


OH's sister was supposed to fly down to Vancouver this morning, then transfer almost immediately to a flight to Whitehorse ..........

.......... she is still stuck in her home town as they have heavy fog / low ceiling up there. She has been re-booked onto an evening flight to Whitehorse ............. if she can get to Vancouver!!

She phoned to ask if she could spend the afternoon with us ..................... but I'm beginning to wonder whether we should make up the bed in the study :-) :-)

Her daughter says, just wait until "Mum" phones you for pick-up!

Linda, could you please pass on mine and OH's best wishes to Tec when you next speak to him. I had a email from Tec the early hours of Tuesday saying that his ulcers were not improving, he did not mention the other problems.
Which Hospital is he in , The Royal Shrewsbury or the Princess Royal Hospital?

Well I had better nip into Wales and paste my post I have ready.
