I have just been watching on the news about the fires again and also there was a report of looting in some of the properties had to be evacuated :-( :-( :-(

The surrounding areas coming together in their droves to help out and support all those who have lost their places and land.......

So so very sad....stay safe and take care to all who live there and are nearby

So pleased that Tec is ok and hoping the Duchesse managed to get in to see him. They are always together so she must miss him very much.
What a lot of friends he has both on this thread and the Welsh thread. I always think of him doing the panto thread several years ago, what a laugh we all had, so many of us on the thread and it went on for weeks. I can't remember too much of it except BC was the old woman who lived in a shoe.

Berona hope it doesn't get too hot for you, when we were in Tenerife it went up to about 32 and thatw as hot enough for us. But my sister lives in Turkey and their temperatures went up to 40 in the summer. Way way too hot.

An update from Tec via text.
I had asked him if he had enjoyed his Sunday morning bacon sarnies in bed, apparently not as he said he had thought of me and my bacon butty

He thanks everyone for their concern.He was awake for most of the night, but he has his own room. He thinks that the Duchess is coming to visit him today.

I will wait a couple of days before I talk to his daughter to see how he is.As it is the weekend nothing much happens in any case, in the meantime I will just keep in touch with him by text

Hello to everyone. I am having a late lunch here in Sydney - after soaking my pot plants - and staying indoors. My house stays cool until about now, as the sun moves overhead and around to my courtyard - then the top temperature arrives at about 2pm, so I had better switch my airconditioning on now to get the benefit of it before the heat creeps in. I leave it as late as possible because I like to have the doors and windows open, but need to close them for maximum benefit from the aircon. My cat likes fresh air too, but as my courtyard is paved - well, you must have heard the saying "like a cat on hot bricks"?? She knows when to stay inside!
To-day's hottest will be 31 (almost there now) but tomorrow's is expected to be 37. Not looking forward to that. One death from the fires so far, but I fear there will be more - and of course, we don't know about the stock and wildlife.
Linda - give my best to Tec, please. I'm so pleased to notice that some good has come out of his trip to hospital - we are being visited by people who normally post on other threads. Lovely to see them and it shows how popular our shy Tec is!!
My best to the Duchess too. It's good to see that she is being cared for by her daughter and SIL.

I know it's late but what the heck.

Linda thank you for the update re- Tec and the Duchess, I too am happy to hear he doesn't seem to have DVT and really hope the hospital get the ulcers under control.
Why oh why don't these people realise that Tec new what he needed from the beginning and give him the stronger anti-biotics to start with and not put him through all this unnecessary pain and also all the worry it has caused his daughter and also the necessity to have to move the Duchess when she isn't well :-|
Please pass on my best wishes for them both Linda.
