You sound like you need more antibiotics Linda?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 20 Oct 2013 22:34

Sorry you're still not feeling well, Linda. That's a nasty virus you've picked up :-(

Hello Jem, I still have a really sore throat and feel like I can;t breathe in deeply enough. My voice sounds very sill when I talk

Wonderful news about the telethon, Allan. Mr Forrest is a very generous man.

SueMaid Report 20 Oct 2013 22:28

Hello Sylvia and Allan :-)

It is very early in the year for such high temperatures. The Bureau of Metereolgy are saying there is no relief in sight :-(

Jem - insurance premiums go up for those people in bushfires and flood areas. Some companies refuse to insure people in these areas :-(

Hi Sylvia :-)

Hello all

I'm pleased that the Duchess was able to visit Tec. I've no doubt that the visit would have pepped him up somewhat. Nice to see from his Text message that Tec has still retained his sense of humour

I hope the weather in NSW changes rapidly with plummeting temperatures and continuous rainfall, otherwise an extremely severe situation will become catastrophic :-(

On a positive note, it was our telethon weekend in WA. $20.7 million was raised in 26 hrs.

One surprise donation came from Andrew 'Twiggy' Forrest, a WA mining magnate. He gave $1 million. Apparently he has given this amount, but anonymously, for the last couple of years. What makes this donation even more amazing is that just last week he donated $65 million to the four universities in WA

It's good that they will get help Sue. If Bush Fires happen regularly in the same places does it affect their insurance payments? I expect it does in the same way as continual flooding does here!

Hope your sister will be ok.

Hi Sue, and everyone

I also heard on my radio news that a State of Emergency had been declared for the Blue Mountains, and for Sydney itself ????

It is so early in the year for this!

Hi Jem - yes a State of Emergency has been declared. It's awful but it does mean that the people affected will get more help and money.

We still have some lingering smoke in the air but not as bad. My sister lives in the Highlands - she's not in danger but she said the smoke is horrendous. Hopefully she will stay safe :-(

Hi Everybody :-)

Thankyou Linda for updating us on poor Tec :-( I do hope they can help him. Thankfully his wife was able to visit him.
I know that you are sending him all our love <3

Hi Sue :-)
I didn't see the news as I was busy cleaning, but my husband says that they are calling a "State Of Emergency" there? How awful for those poor people :-(

Hi Again Mersey :-)

Hi anyone else looking in :-)

Hopefully whatever they are giving Tec will knock the infection on the head and start the healing process - thanks Linda.

Hello everyone :-)

Thanks again Linda for the update. I hope the Duchess is feeling much better and up to a trip to the hospital.

Still a little smoky here but not as bad.

Mersey - sadly there is always some looting after a disaster but the spirit of the communities make up for the bad ones.
