Hello to everyone. Haven't bought Freddos for a while. I seem to remember them wrapped in blue foil. Some have soft centres, some solid chocolate. This might have changed since I last bought any.

When I heard sprinkles last night, I thought 'halleluljah, hope it is raining on the mountains' but as I was still thinking about it, it stopped. That's usual for here, where I live. We don't see much rain. Now, they tell us that the light shower which fell on the mountains did more harm than good. It stopped the back-burning but didn't stop the raging fires. I can't smell the smoke at the moment, as I'm directly east of the mountains and a NW wind is blowing up there. Yesterday, when I went out with my daughter-in-law, looking at the sky, we could not see where the smoke haze finished and the clouds started. Oh well, we can only hope that the forecast is wrong, but I have a feeling it is right, for a change.

Please include me in that group hug for Tec.

We have Freddos in Wales! Either in just milk chocolate or with caramel centres.

I'm so sorry for everyone caught up in the situation in Australia. Very worrying :-(

My sister has a cafe in the Highlands. She said that they are only getting locals in for coffee as no-one is brave enough to drive into the area. Although there are no fires close enough to be a danger who knows what could happen in the weather that is expected.

No we don't have them sue

The carpet is fine. We put the cupboards back in the study, but in different places. I have got most of the things back in them, but there is a lot of finishing off to do tomorrow.

Sue, over in the west we know all about the rains. We are already being warned of a catastrophic fire season in WA. The extensive rains have prevented controlled burns, and have generated new undergrowth which will add to the fuel burden as it dries over summer. There are some areas within walking distance of us which are disasters waiting to happen

Hello Linda - does the new carpet look good?

I thought you had Freddos in the UK. They are chocolate frogs with different centres. I have them in the treat jar for the grandchildren :-D

Hello Allan - there was some rain in the fire affected areas last night but that made things worse by hampering the back burning. Today it promises to be hot, windy and low humidity - that will only make matters worse :-(. There. Are expectations that more homes will be lost and sadly lives in danger. All schools in the Blue Mountains are closed and people are being urged to go if they can :-(
