Good morning from me.(now eleven hours ahead in time, for the next six months). Allan won't agree with me because he is in a different time zone and they don't have DST in the west.

We have been hearing about your bad weather and the loss of young lives. It's so sad, isn't it? Our fires are still burning, but have abated and are no threat to property at this stage.

Good news about Tec. I'm so pleased he is out of hospital and that he has gone to his daughter's place. He won't be able to 'potter around' there like he would if he was at home. Linda.... please tell him that I'm thinking of him.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I did have a lovely day and enjoyed seeing my family all on the one day - but all at different times this year. Oh well, at least I could have a good talk to them that way.

Must go now and stay around where I can hear the front door = bell not working again. It's blood test day and the man comes at any time, so I need to be where I can hear him knock. Talk again later. Sleep well or have a nice day, all.

I was sorry to hear about that 14 year old swept away .............. but what on earth was he doing to be swimming in the sea with such a storm warning. Sorry .............. but he was an idiot!

Great News about Tec, he needs to do as he is told and take things easy, Im going to have to get me pink moped in for a service and get practicing ....there will be no stopping him soon.... Mwahh to him and Duchess :-) <3 <3

Tec is still waiting. They brought him something which he thinks was supposed to be dinner.

They have swapped his zimmer for elbow crutches (They were obviously so impressed by the Welsh Dragon design that they wanted to keep it)

He is still waiting for the pharmacy to dispense his medication

The big chief has been round and says he can go home today if the sister can get his meds organised in time

His leg is still very swollen and painful, so he is going to his daughters.

We haven't had the storm here, it has been further south and it is causing chaos. Sadly one boy who was swimming in the sea has been killed and a seventeen year old girl has been killed by a falling tree

Good Morning / Evening or whatever time zone you are in on the Aussie Thread :-) :-)

Just to let you all know that I am ok, and that the storm that was expected, probably had passed by my little part of South Wales by yesterday evening. It was very bad here yesterday through the morning and afternoon and Saturday. There was flooding in a pub/ hotel not too far away, and they had to evacuate due to danger from the electrics.

There has been a lot of storm damage throughout Britain with hundreds of trees down (particularly on railway lines) flooding, etc. and power cuts throughout Britain, but not here that I am aware of.

Sadly a 14 year old boy has been swept out to sea off East Sussex and is now feared dead. As my Grandson is 14, I am feeling quite weepy about it.

The strongest recorded winds were at The Needles, off the Isle of Wight- 99 m.p.h. (Hurricane Gusts, not a hurricane, as it is not constant wind) There is still an amber alert which we are just on the fringe of, with expected winds up to 80 mph, and rain. It is quickly pushing eastwards though and will be hitting the continent and Denmark.

Well that's the news from my little neck of the woods. Hope you are all ok, and that the situation with the fires is starting to get under control.- Love Jem <3

Good thank you, Huia. Beautiful day here so the forecast for rain was just to keep our hopes up. Family popping in - another due soon. He usually drops in straight from work but said that to-day, he will go home first, shower and change. ???? Is that because it's my birthday?
It's so nice to see the flowers in the vases. Don't they make a difference to the brightness of the place?
Still thinking of Tec and hoping that he is improving and will soon be home - or at least with his duchess and I know their daughter will be taking care of them.
Linda - take car of that cold. You seem to get them a lot. I was like you from when I was a child. Even had courses of medications which didn't do much good. However, since getting my annual flu shot (for about ten years now) I have never had the flu and rarely get a cold - and even then, a course of Claratyne soon gets rid of it.
