Hello all,

It was actually very cold down here today. Yesterday it was in the 30's, today has been wet, cold and windy with breaks of sunshine...4 seasons in one day lol

Its the race that stops the nation on Tuesday, the Melbourne Cup. Its a public holiday here that day, yippee!

Maryborough station is quite an impressive building Persie. The first time I saw it I thought it was the town hall or something like that, not a train station lol
Earlier on in the year OH went to visit his sister in that area and got hopelessly lost and getting low on fuel, he turned around and came home without seeing his sister lol she had gone to a lot of trouble preparing a huge meal for him on his arrival! (oh he could not phone her because there was no phone reception)
I'm sure there were some colourful words used that day, so glad I was at work :-D

Hello Bill and CT who I saw on here when I was reading the page t'other day.

I am Persie from NZ.. have eaten in the cafe and been through the antique emporium at Maryborough Station... spent hours there... and we like Bendigo.. last time there went to the wonderful art gallery. Just been telling someone who wondered where Sandhurst Victoria was about the painting in the gallery of Sandhurst which was Bendigo before it became Bendigo. Bit of a fan of Victoria.

have been very remiss not visiting here of late .. Mersey's moped keeps knocking me over..

The good thing with this tour is that it is organised through a local Travel Agent. The cost includes transport from Bunbury to Perth Airport. There is a bus service from Bunbury but it goes at weird hours. Unlike some other major airports in Australia, there is no rail link to the airport, and parking is a nightmare (at least at the domestic terminal) Not sure what the international terminal is like now. Last time we used it was when we flew here 31 years ago :-D

I saw your post on FB about your brother's anniversary :-( it is 2yrs this week that I lost 3 members of my close family within 5 days, my BIL, my cousin who was only 45yrs old and my Birth mother.

Bill, my Uncle was in the RN during WW2; he became a Chief Petty Officer. At the end of the war he was offered a commission in the RAN, which he turned down. He said the if it had been the New Zealand Navy he would have been there like a shot :-)
