Clearing the room is the worst thing. I feel so sorry for carpet fitters when they turn up to find furniture still in the room. I noticed this time that they specified that the rooms must be cleared

We have wooden floors in the hallway and living room. We've decided to carpet the living room and have tiles in the hallway, dining area and kitchen. I'm dreading it especially the carpeting.

It was hard work and my poor old muscles are aching from lifting all the furniture around

I brought back a lot from Bali, Linda - I have to do something with it :-D

The upstairs must be looking good - hard work but worth it.

Time for a few glasses of vino I think.I have spent the last three days hauling heavy furniture about so I am tired. Order is now restored and I only have a few minor things to sort out

Hello Berona. Thank you - it's always good to get back home. Linda is very generous isn't she? :-D

Linda - it's dreadful that they will allow a baby to go through obvious discomfort and punish the parents for coping well. Your poor daughter and SIL must be exhausted :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Nov 2013 09:59

Hello Berona, hmm my new carpet, do I really want them walking on it? I may need to reconsider the house invite :-D

we are going down to see Eve and Esme next week, so I am looking forward to that.

Esme hasn't been very well for a couple of days, she seems to be in pain and is crying all of the time. It has now been decided that she is not going to make any improvement in her feeding for the foreseeable future,so it would be better if she had a stomach tube instead of a nose one. Everything my daughter has researched has thrown up parents saying they wished it had happened earlier because the babies were happier and life is easier. Esme is not a priority case though because they are doing a good job with her and she is managing to put on weight. If she was below the 25th percentile for weight gain, she would be dealt with earlier. as it is she is not due to see the head honcho for three months and obviously it would take rime after that. So they have no prospect of any respite.

Welcome home Sue. Glad you had a lovely holiday and hope you enjoyed your concert. It's so nice to know that you have been upgraded to sleeping in the house next time you go to Linda's. Who knows? She might even let you sleep in a bed instead of on the floor (but that would probably only be to protect her new carpet). Still - it's progress!!

It certainly brought back memories for my son and daughter. We sat through many a concert when they were little. Of course Aimee then had to do a dance for us while her brothers played background music :-D

Wow....I feel so special :-D

I noticed you mentioned the little ones being pleased to see us. We went over for tea yesterday evening and they were very pleased to see us. We bought them a set of Balinese wooden musical instruments (as well as clothes) and after tea I organised them into giving us a little concert. They were so excited and when they had finished they all stood up and took a bow :-D
