Hiya Diane :-) <3 great to hear you are feeling abit better and those peggys of yours have settled down.......

Im glad you like my avatar :-D :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Nov 2013 22:46

Of course I wanted to talk to you Linda :-D but even I can't move mountains.

Apparently the idea of the water beds is to prevent bed sores, but having got comfortable in one position, you didn't dare move for fear of being washed away :-D.
Well I had better make a move and get ready for bed, everything takes longer on the zimmer and I have a few things to do in readiness for the lady in the morning.

Enjoy your day Down Under, and Sylvia across the pond :-)

Sleep well Linda, Diane, and all up top,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

Diane

Diane Report 24 Nov 2013 22:45

Arrh Linda I'm sure that wasn't the case :-(

Diane

Diane Report 24 Nov 2013 22:42

Tec pity they don't allow shared room for OH :-( never mind you are now back home and getting help, do they help with shopping if you need it ?

Yes thank you Linda my chest infection has cleared up just a bit of a cough and my tooth has also settled down :-)

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Nov 2013 22:39

I bet the signal was fine Tec, you just didn't want to talk to me :-( :-(

SylviaInCanada Report 24 Nov 2013 22:38

Tec ............ like Linda, I would have thought that the ward sister should have been far more concerned about you sleeping on 2 chairs!

We slept on a waterbed in a motel in Oregon back in the 70s ............

it was not fully filled, which meant that it was like being on a rough sea whenever the other person moved

I was feeling really seasick by 7 am!

We didn't sleep in another one until we stayed at the daughter's in-laws in 1999.

We were put in what had been our now-son-in-law's room .............. he'd inherited a queen size water mattress from his parents. BUT all the internal baffles had come loose, and were all down at one end.

Sleeping on it wasn't as bad as that first one ............................ getting out of bed was quite another matter! If I was sitting on the side and OH got up, I would roll right over onto my side.

Same thing trying to put on socks or shoes ................ get just a little bit off central sitting and over you went!

We slept on that one about 2 more times ..................... then they got rid of it and bought a new spring mattress for the bed.

Hello Diane, I hope you are over your chest infection by now

Hello Diane, It's great to be back. I wished everynight that I could have my laptop with me, but there's no WiFi connection for patients.
It was so very kind of Linda to keep in touch, and relay news to you all, I shall always be grateful to her.
The mobile phone was useful, but the signal is hopeless much of the time, blotted out by the mountains I suppose.

They weren't bothered about me sleeping in a chair. The rules are the rules, and apparently common sense doesn't apply :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Nov 2013 22:22

She should have been concerned at your trying to sleep on a chair

That bed was daft enough with just one occupant, goodness knows what would have happened with two.

I think the ward sister would have become outraged to find male and female in one bed :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Nov 2013 22:16

That was silly, you should have hopped in with her :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Nov 2013 22:14

They have a strict separate male/female policy in that hospital, I don't think they cater for married couples being in at the same time.
One night the Duchess became confused and insisted on finding me. She ended up in my bed, while I slept in two chairs put together :-(

That was ridiculous

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Nov 2013 22:06

I think they should have let you share a room while you were there, it is silly you had a spare bed in your room

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Nov 2013 22:04

Thank you for the choccies and roses Mersey :-)

It was wonderful to sleep in our own bed last night Linda - bliss. Yes, my daughter just loves school leading up to Christmas, and all those hyper active little dears

Hello Sylvia - we are glad to be home - it was the strangest thing being carted off in an ambulance together - buy one, get one free :-D
