Oh, that is sad Tec, I know how you liked giving your Baubles away.

We will have to bother with the tree and decorations earlier than normal because Eve is coming.

We talked to her earlier on Skype. I thought that something was wrong at first because the picture was all black, but they had the lights out,so they could show us their tree and the flashing lights they have over the window. I thought it was a bit early, but as my daughter pointed out, they are coming here on the 19th,so they might as well get value out of the tree which is a real one

It's good that my daughter won't have to spend time cleaning, and it would be nice to go for a drive. I have been trying to think where there's a teashoppe or somewhere I can actually get into once out of the car.

I have a feeling that she will want to put the Christmas tree up, although we don't normally put it up till a few days before Christmas. I usually spend a whole day decorating it, but that won't be happening. My little fan club won't be along to inspect it this year either.
:-)

Now you have the cleaning lady, you can stop your daughter from spending her time cleaning, she can paint instead :-D

Only joking, maybe she could take you for a ride out

The cakes are always nice at the University teas :-D

It will be nice for you to see your daughter at the weekend, Tec :-)

Hello Linda,

Are your tired feet feeling better now :-) It must be fun shopping for little people who are into playing with all those bits and pieces, using their imagination making things.

Sue I hope you enjoy the morning tea, and presentation. You are a busy bee :-)

Hello Sue,

Yes it is strange having the callers arrive, and we can't really relax while waiting for them to arrive.
You are right, things will quieten down eventually when it isn't necessary for them all to call.
The two hours a week cleaning service is very welcome and useful, as I can't manage that anymore.
I am hoping to get back driving again soon. My car is automatic so I don't use the left leg anyway. We could at least get out for a drive if it was a nice day.

My daughter is coming at the weekend to do a shop for us. The lady that owns the village shop is a friend and she will always drop off anything we need in day to day things, which is very useful at the moment.

Hello Linda. Great idea for a Christmas present. We have a craft box here as well as the children having one at home.

I have a morning tea to go to this morning. I am presenting a cheque to a University research team so it will be a very nice "feel good" morning :-)

Hello Sue and Tec

I suppose that they are used to dealing with hard of hearing people Tec. Tell them you are not deaf,so there is no need to shout. It is early days yet, so things will settle down

It was mainly craft things for Eve Sue. She has a box with craft things in, mainly things I have taken down for her, but as she is getting more adventurous, she needs more things. So I have bought a plastic crate with a lid and I have spent a small fortune on all manner of crafty bits and bobs. It is going to be her Christmas present from us

Hello Tec :-)

I can only imagine how strange it is to have these people popping in at various times during the day. I guess you will settle into a routine. Once things are in place and you have your dentures then it will only be the care workers and the nurse visiting.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Dec 2013 20:59

Hello Everyone,

Dull misty day again, 6 C. the usual run of visitors. The Home Care ladies arrive at 10 am, and 6 pm for half an hour to see if there's anything to do. There is never much. I n the mornings they make the bed, and load the washing machine if required, and in the evening they either help me finish making dinner, or wash up if we've had dinner.
It is a help really, but it's hard to get used to these daily intrusions into our home, especially in the mornings - and why do they all shout as if we're both deaf?

Also today the dental technician called to do a second impression for my new dentures "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" :-D
Then the nurse called to dress my leg.
Tomorrow a man is calling to arrange having a handrail fitted to the front steps into the house.
