I also feel so sorry for the people affected by the flooding, having their homes wr
ecked, and just before Christmas too, but I guess that is the least of their worries.

I will have to get help getting into the health centre, as I can't manage that distance.

My regular GP retired last week, so will be meeting the new one for the first time.
Apparently she is a very nice young lady :-)

Thank you both :-) From the photos I'm starting see on Facebook , it is looking more frightening by the moment , and we haven't reached the peak yet :-0
It is good to feel safe but my heat goes out to all the thousands of folk that have their homes at risk , this is going to be an historic event for our area :-(

Tec , you take care with the driving tomorrow . And as Linda says , get them to come and fetch you once your in the carpark , don't try to walk that far ! x

Hello Amanda,

Glad to hear that you are safe and out of harms way. It's good that the army has been drafted in before and trouble, rather than after as is usually the case.

Stay safe, you and all the family

They should have a wheel chair in the surgery Tec, so they could come and get you as you say

I am glad you are safe Amanda, lots of houses have already gone under unfortunately

Well done getting your cards written. I haven't started yet, don't even know if we have any, but my daughter is coming tomorrow, so can pick some up. I usually like to select a few individual cards for special friends, but will have to use the ones out of the pack.
Although going to the health centre I won't be able do any shopping. I'm wondering how I will get from the car into the health centre. Could always phone them to say I'm in the car park and to come and get me :-D

I've seen the conditions on your coastline on tv news, looks very bad.
It will be wild driving round the coast here tomorrow, but the coast road is high up, so there won't be any flooding.

Hello Tec and Linda .

We are all okay Tec , thank you . Thankfully we all live on higher ground and are safe from the threat of flooding . The highest point of the tide is due around 10pm but I've heard that parts of Yarmouth are already flooding .
Our daughter Rachael just phoned , she had been to the pier and sea front to have a look and said there is about three feet to go on the inner wall before it breaches :-0
The wind seems to be easing , which is a relief but we won't be over the worst until this and the following two tides have passed .

It is on the news now that the Army have just been drafted in to help put up more flood defences :-0 :-0 :-0

I'll keep you all posted x

Hello Tec,
It has been dreadful here today. There is lots of flooding all along the coast, it looks awful
I stayed in and have been writing cards on and off all day. Most of them are done now, apart from the local ones. I will venture out tomorrow and raid my bank account to pay for the stamps

I hope the wind will have died down tomorrow before you have to go out. We don't want you being blown away in the wind

Tecwyn Report 5 Dec 2013 20:16

Linda I hope the worst of the storm has passed where you are. It was very wise of the ramblers to cancel their walk.
We have had strong winds all day, gusts of 80mph, and a very high tide. The sea has flooded many homes on the North Wales coast.
I have been thinking of Amanda as it's bad on the coast where she lives. Hope everything is well with her.

Quiet day today, the Home Care ladies called twice, but the cleaning lady is coming tomorrow now, as her care broke down today. I'm not surprised in this weather.
Big day tomorrow, I am driving to the doctors 10 miles away. First time I've driven any distance in eight weeks.
I'm going to see if I can get increased pain control. The district nurse is coming in with me apparently.

Good evening from me and good morning to you. Hope all of you are well?

Our weather is much cooler than it was on previous days. Sydney had four seasons in one to-day - rain, heat, wind, cool. Where I am, we had three drops of rain, then a warm 24 (not 34 like yesterday), then strong wind and then a drop in temp to 18. Strange for summer - but I've given up trying to understand the weather. Forecast for next week is 30+ every day/

No one would be able to read the cards if he did them, his writing is shocking. If I am going to pay for stamps, I prefer people to know who sent them :-D
