It sounds as if your hubby is having a bad day Linda :-S I didn't realise one could do cheese on toast in a microwave . I haven't ever owned such a machine and view them with suspicion.....lol

Heaven help me , OH just went to make himself some cheese on toast.

Only when he went back, he had forgotten to turn the toaster on, so he just had bread. Then he tried to put it in the microwave to melt the cheese (better than putting the grill on), goodness knows what he did, but he came back saying that he thought we needed a new microwave because he couldn't get the buttons to work. so he ended up with cheese on bread :-S

He must have poked random buttons on the microwave because he had wiped the time of and unless the time is set, it won't work. I reset it and it is working perfectly now. :-|

Hello Linda , yes there where some terriable events a little further down the coast , peoples homes tipping into the sea :-( The news of the surge was obviously diverted to Nelson Mandela when the news of his death broke .

Hello everyone :-)

Linda , it sounds as if you are going to be having a boozie old Christmas ....lol

Sylvia , I'm sory to hear the news about your SIL is not positive :-( I hope she is bearing up as well as can be expected , it must be a great strain on the family .

Tec , it is good to know that you have taken to your new Dr . I have found that the new young ones are very attentive . I hope your pain is easier to cope with and that the meds are not knocking you for six .
You neighbour sounds like a kindly soul :-D

Sue , Huia and Berona , I hope you are enjoying your summer weather :-)

Diane , your family get together sounds delightful and all the moe special with having you Grandson there :-D

Well , the tidel flood came and went . The first night was the worst but everyone was on tenderhooks waiting for the following two tides . We went and took a look in the day on the Saturday , the sea looked awfully BIG , as it was much closer in than normal . Thank goodness the tidel barriers held for the most part in our area , they breached the river wall in a couple of places , right by the river . I expect the local newspaper will be full of the flooding news on Friday .

Tomorrow will be ten years to the day since I joined GR :-0 Goodness me , a decade has slipped by :-S

I am sorry to hear about your sister in law Sylvia

I thought that were all organised for Christmas, but you haven't done your cards yet.

I have had a busy day. I have started community driving again, so I took an older lady to the supermarket. She goes round on the supermarkets mobility scooter, but needs someone to help with her shopping. I have actually known her for a long time as she used to volunteer in the tourist office. Some days she is more "alert" than others, but today was a good day.

Then I went to the church to take down the display which is over now. Then after lunch I went back to the supermarket to do my own shopping. I learnt from when I used to take my mother round that I couldn't do my own shopping at the same time

If you buy expensive wine and champagne you should expect a large bill, Linda :-D

Hi Sue, and everyone

Congratulations, Sue and OH xxxx

Tec ............... have you thought about possibly buying clothes online? They're delivered to your door :-)

We have had several days of very cold but sunny and dry weather ................. around -4 or -5C during the day. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Today it was very cloudy when I woke up ............. and now white stuff has been slowly falling for the last 3 hours!

It is very fine and dry snow ........ which is very unusual for Vancouver. We usually get the heavy wet type. Because is it so fine, there is only about 1 cm accumulation.

Things are not good for my sis-i-l. The radiation does not seem to have helped the brain tumour, there is still a lot of swelling there, and she has not recovered the use of her right side.

She is back home, with care givers, and is using a wheel chair to get around.

I have got everything for Christmas, just have to make up one parcel, and get the Christmas letter printed and cards written.

We are going to friends for Christmas.

Take care everyone

xx
