Err, I don't think so Mersey

It has taken me all afternoon to put the tree and Christmas decorations up. Time for a sit down I think

Tomorrow I need to go round and remove the cleaning products etc from low level as we don't have cupboard locks. Some things like those plastic dishwasher tabs are so dangerous. They look very pretty and inviting to bite, but they are so caustic that they have destroyed the oesophagus and stomachs of children who have eaten them. The handles on the drinks cupboard will need to be tied together as well

Most of the ornaments can stay put, I only need to move a couple of very fragile ones. It won't be the end of the earth if anything breaks, but I don't want her hurting herself.

Hello Mappo, welcome to the thread,I am up top in God's own county.

Hello Berona, I hope you are enjoying the summer. It is remarkably mild today given that it is December, they are promising nasty weather to come,so I just can't wait :-D

Berona Report 14 Dec 2013 09:22

Welcome to the thread, Mappo. With all those names on your list, I didn't recognise any, so you don't seem to be related to me. In fact, nobody on this thread seems to be related to anyone else on the thread. We just get together for a chinwag. Best time to talk to everybody is in our morning (I'm in NSW too). as we are 11 hours ahead of most of them (except Sylvia in Canada) and of course, our Kiwi friends who are ahead by a couple of hours.
Nevertheless, even if nobody is around, just talk like they are and they'll catch up to you. I don't think anyone is there at the moment, but they will see this and know that I'm around and OK. We worry about each other if they don't post for a while.

You shouldn't play tricks on fragile old men, especially those under the influence of noxious substances :-D

Should I have to return to hospital Linda, it will be Shrewsbury where there is a good signal.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 13 Dec 2013 22:08

Hello Tec and Mersey

I can't blame OH Mersey because we decided to get an artificial tree and I hate clutter,so he would have got rid of the stand. It was me who wanted a real tree again this year.

Poppy the dog is very old Tec, I fear they will be faced with a decision soon,

You can't be in hospital again, or if you are it must be the one where you can get a good mobile signal so I can talk to you :-D

Tecwyn Report 13 Dec 2013 21:56

Poor old dog, sounds like her legs are going, but she sounds quite old.

I am hoping the infection is not the return of cellulitis that put me in hospital last time.

Hello Mersey, How are you? I hope you are feeling better now, and back to your mad capers :-D

Hi one and all.....

Tec I hope all will be sorted for you <3 <3

Linda I hope you are making your oh feel guilty lol ;-)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 13 Dec 2013 17:20

Oh dear Tec, I hope it isn't an infection, if it is I hope you get the correct antibiotics straight away

The neighbour knows the dog smells but I don't think they have done anything about it. The dog is going downhill fast, she likes to sit up on the sofa, but she couldn't get up today, I had to lift her up. Her eyesight is going as well, but she is a good natured thing, I don't mind her being there which is saying something because as you know, I don't like dogs.

Tecwyn Report 13 Dec 2013 16:45

Glad you enjoyed crawling around on the floor Linda :-D

There are various reasons why an old dog can give off an offensive smell, and the vet can cure them.
We only ever had one dog that smelled as he got older, but he had exema sp, and that was treated by the vet.
Sometimes they can have rotten teeth, and that's very unpleasant, or just smelly breath. There are other reasons that I've forgotten, but the vet can help.
Sometimes the owners get so used to the smell that they don't notice it anymore, and it's a difficult subject to broach in a neighbours house.

I am the proud owner of new teeth. The technician called today, and I am very pleased with them. Wasn't so pleased when I wrote the cheque :-(
Don't think I'll try eating an apple just yet though :-D

Didn't come on the thread last night as I wasn't well enough. The nurse just phoned and following a blood test I had yesterday they seem to think I have another infection in that leg. She is coming back on Monday to take a swab, but that will be a few days before they know for sure
