Huia - the West Yorkshire Electoral Rolls are on Ancestry and are from 1840 - 1962. Interesting to see the wives of some of my ancestors pop onto the rolls after women were allowed to vote :-D

Just popping in to say hello to everyone. Lovely day here- - a little too warm, but I indulge myself and use the aircon, so I can make myself comfortable. Still no sign of rain, so I have to go out into the fresh air to water my pots. Otherwise, another quiet day with the computer and the videos. Nothing worth watching on TV at this time of the year. All the good programs are kep until February - when school resumes.

Tec - hope you and the duchess are coping. I worry about you, especially when you say you still have pain. That shouldn't be allowed to be happening.

What years are those W Yorks. electoral rolls etc, and which part of W. York, also where do you look at them?

it's a lovely sunny day, with blue skies ......... but there is a strong wind coming down from the north!


I've been spending a lot of time with my ancestors .............. trying to sort out some of the siblings of our direct ancestors (his tree and mine). You know, did they marry, who, did they die, etc. Not too deep ........................ but hard at times!


We have so many that have relatively uncommon names .............. except in the town/village where they actually live.

Combine that with the frequent recycling of the same few names, and you can end up with a mess!


I go to the dermatologist this afternoon (in about 2 hours) to have the squamous thingy removed.


Then we can think of Christmas.

Yes, I am all ready, it should be very interesting.

I must admit that I am more looking forward to bringing Eve back. She was talking to her mum this morning and she told her that Hanma and granddad are her best friends.

When we saw her on Skype tonight, I was wearing a black top. She was most concerned because she wants me to have a pink top like hers. she told her mum that she is going to take me to the shops to get a pink top :-D
