Merry Christmas, Sylvia - to you and yours. Take care in that snow!
One of my sons has taken his family on a cruise - left last Wednesday - so they will be at sea for Christmas Day. They were here for exchanging of presents last Sunday. The rest of mine will be here on Christmas day, but a smaller attendance as another son and his wife flew out to Phuket for a holiday to-day.
Another hot one to-day - and still quite hot at 7.30pm.38. Longest day of the year to-day. So, I suppose it's the shortest day for you up-toppers. Our shortest day is 21st June.

Hi Sue, and everyone
we had about 11 cm of snow yesterday (Friday). OH stayed home, went out and shovelled our path and the sidewalks on 2 sides of the house. Then went across the street to our almost-90 year old neighbour, and did his sidewalk ........ another neighbour did the second sidewalk for Joe
OH then came in calling "coffee, coffee" ................. so off we went down to the coffee shop. Driving wasn't bad ................. it was still snowing quite heavily, but the main streets had been well ploughed and sanded, and the side streets were well enough covered with snow that they were not slippery.
The snow stopped about 1 pm, and the temperature gradually rose from -2 to 0C ............ and it began a freezing drizzle :-(
It froze overnight, then there was more freezing drizzle this morning ..................... which means that most of the snow was still here!
However, the streets were mainly clear, and so were the sidewalks. EXCEPT where home owners had not done their duty and cleared the snow away .................. those sections were a bit dicey for walking on. Such people are liable for a $100 fine :-)
We did our last little bit of shopping. OH has attached the wreath to the railings on the sun deck, facing the side street. Hope we don't lose it while we are away!
I have to do my e-cards later this evening .................. then we're done! And can leave on Monday with gay abandon!
In case I don't get back on here .....................
Merry Christmas everyone xxxx
we'll be back in town for next weekend.
take care
s xxx

Hi everyone :-)
Linda you visit to the Palace sounds like a memory to treasure, glad you all had such a lovely time :-)
Tec I hope you have got your anti-biotics and that the pain isn't as bad for you, I hope you don't have to go back into hospital over the christmas time :-(
~~~~ to Mersey, you tire me out just thinking about you zooming about all over the place on your returned moped :-D
Hello Amanda, sorry to hear the little one's have coughs, hope they sleep for you :-)
Sue are you all sorted for Christmas :-)
Berona what high temps I couldn't cope with them, I hope you and Kitty manage to keep cool :-)
Huia I hope all is well with you :-)
I haven't had any internet for the past 4dys because my 02 connection was taken over by Sky and for some reason my Router didn't work as they said it would so I had to wait for a new one from Sky to arrive, it wasn't suppose to arrive until monday but it came early today :-) I am in the middle of painting Grand-daughters bedroom from boy blue to white, as it is just a case of painting 4 walls and ceiling it shouldn't take to long as it is only a small room.
Hello everyone :-)
Amanda - it is good to see you as always. It's very quiet on here at the moment. It's good that you are getting back into Ancestry. Fancy not wanting your fifteen minutes of fame on the radio :-D
Tec - I hope all is well with you and the Duchess <3
Linda - how exciting seeing Adele. She is a favourite of mine.
:-D Hello everyone <3
I'm just popping in to say that I hope everyone is well and to wish you all a lovely festive season .
I've managed to swing a two week free trial on Ancestry ( again ....lol ) , so am busy doing a bit of digging about .
I had a random message from a woman on here a few days ago about the Clissett name , turns out she does a geneology slot on BBC radio Wales , wanted me to speak on air over the phone but I declined , I just gave her some general infomation on the name . It has re kindled my interest though , which is nice :-)
I have both Emily and Isla here tonight as their Mum is off out celebrating her 21st birthday , I don't usually have more than one of them sleep over as the " spare " room is quite small , I've managed to squeeze them both in okay and am just hoping they don't wake each other up coughing in the night , as they both have nasty coughs :-(
Tec , I hope that you are not feeling to bad at the moment , I haven't read back through the thread .
Well , if I don't get back on before the big day , I wish you all a Christmas full of Love and Light <3
Just looking in for a short while.
I was hoping there would be lots of famous people at the investiture, but all the people being knighted were from industry,so I hadn't heard of them. The only famous person was the singer Adele who was getting an MBE the same as my sister. My sister said she felt sorry for her because while they were all waiting, they were all chatting to each other, finding out what everyone had got their award for, but she was just standing on her own, surrounded by a few of the palace servants
Hello everyone :-)
What a wonderful day, Linda - well worth a very nice dinner in a posh restaurant. Again congratulations to your sister.
No grandchildren today :-). I've loved having them but I'm exhausted. They are at that squabbling age :-(. The boys always seem to want the same thing at the same time.
Still can't get my laptop so can't sort the photos. I hate typing on this tablet.
It was good fun arriving by taxi after palace and sweeping past the crowds looking through the railings. We had to walk across the inner courtyard which was coarse gravel. That was funny watching some of them in killer heels.
We went in via the door where the covered section is, where you see the royals getting out of the cars and up a grand staircase. After that, I was very impressed by the loos :-D They were incredibly old fashioned things :-D
We walked along a long gallery past some incredible paintings to the ballroom where we had to wait for about forty minutes for the ceremony to start. It was Prince Charles, not the Queen which was a bit of a let down. The whole thing was very slick and took an hour and a quarter, by which time I had numb bum
Afterwards we made our way down to the courtyard for the official photos, it was freezing lining up and waiting, you would think they could do them inside . Then it was all over so we took a taxi to the restaurant I had chosen. We went to Corrigan of Mayfair. Richard Corrigan is an Irish TV chef, the food and the atmosphere was amazing, as was the bill. Looking round, you could see the money. I don't normally dine in such places, but this was a once in a lifetime day
Hello all. and particularly to Ann. Hope you and yours have a lovely Christmas and many thanks for your effort with the Greaders' club.
Hotter than usual here to-day. 41 where I am. I got out early and soaked my pots, then put the aircon on and enjoyed it for the rest of the day. I have been able to turn it off at sundown until to-day, but I think I'll leave it on for a little while longer. We only expect 28 tomorrow. Talk about mercurial!!
Tec - hope you are getting the proper treatment to relieve the pain. Thinking of you.
