Glad I am not in the south west, they are in for a battering again tomorrow

Linda your new blouse sounds nice and good that it matches the suit you bought for the palace visit :-)

Sue sounds like you are going to have a fun time with the 3 grandchildren, I agree painting on paper is a better idea than your walls :-D

Sometimes these things need to be done, Diane.

Making cupcakes is Joel's thing, Linda - eating them is Aimee's :-D

Yes it was the best way for me to start the New Year, it was sent to the brother who came to my house after not seeing him for 40yrs and acted as though he was happy to see me again then 2 days later e-mailed me threats if I didn't send all dads papers and bank account statements to him and make changes to dads funeral arrangements from a burial to a cremation and no church service only one at the crem, as the fire works were going off for the new year I suddenly thought it is his birthday ( he is the one who is 2mths older than me ) and I need to bring an end to it all.

Sue it is sad to have to end things this way but I'v decided I need to move forward and I can only start doing this by sorting out these things and taking control of my own life.

I am sure you will entertain them well, making cup cakes always goes down well with Eve

I'll stick to the craft idea, Linda. I can't imagine how the lounge would look after the boys had finished with it :-0 Drew will likely bring one of his latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid books to read so he'll be set for the afternoon and the twins will be happy with a wad of paper, paints and pencils. I also have some photos for Aimee to put in her own little scrapbook album.

Diane , hopefully , now you have sent that e-mail you will be able to close the book on them , so to speak . A good way to begin a new year , with that sort of un-pleasentness well and truely behind you !

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Jan 2014 21:24

You are making a clean start to the year Diane.

It is time you got the boys doing some real painting Sue, they could redecorate the lounge for you :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 2 Jan 2014 21:24

It's a shame it's come to that, Diane but sometimes you need to step away for your own sanity :-(

Hello Sue :-)

yes it is nice to have family visiting which reminds me, I finally sent my ex brother ( as I now call him ) an e-mail telling him how I feel about him and my eldest brother after what they both put me through when my dad died. It was short but to the point and if I say so myself a polite way of saying I never want to see or hear from either of them again, and as he refered to me to the lady in the funeral parlour as " she is no one only a half sister " I said he would be pleased to know I no longer thought of him or the other brother as my brothers so this would make him happy as he could tell anyone he chose to that he doesn't have a sister called Diane.

If it rains Sue , you will have to get the kids to do some craft stuff , that way you can go and buy some new stuff in the sales :-)

I hope there is better news from Tec soon . I also hope he isn't in any danger from the foul weather that is predicted again for tomorrow !

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Jan 2014 21:15

I haven't spoken to him today, I will ring tomorrow to see how they are

Horrible things, Linda :-(

It's miserable outside - looks like rain. We have the children coming over for a few hours while their mum and stepdad work. I haven't seen them all this year :-D

Linda - have you spoken to Tec?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Jan 2014 20:58

They will climb up the pole or wall instead Sue

The whole of the back wall of our house shines with silver slug trails in the sun. They go right up to the eaves, goodness knows where they go then

I must confess that I didn't know who John Rocha was actually :-S I am totally rubbish at clothes and brand names , that's what happens to a girl when she is bought up wearing her big brothers hand me downs ......lol

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 2 Jan 2014 20:54

Same problem here, Linda :-(. It puts me off wearing some very nice sleeveless tops I have seen in the shops.

The strawberry plants are in a hanging container that OH bought from the garden centre. It's a long cylinder with holes for the plants. The slugs would have to sprout wings to get to the plants :-D. Ugh.....flying slugs :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Jan 2014 20:50

I don't play bingo either, so there must be some other reason Amanda.

I like John Rocha t shirts from Debenhams, I buy them in the sales,so they aren't expensive, but they always look nice, well I think so anyway

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 2 Jan 2014 20:40

Your not alone with the fat arm syndrome Linda , I can't understand how I grew " bingo wings " without ever having played the game :-S
The tops sound very nice :-)

Good morning Sue :-) The children in your area sound as if they are on the ball . I hope your strawberry plants thrive .

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Jan 2014 20:36

Good morning Sue. That is nice of you to plant some strawberries for the slugs to eat
