SueMaid Report 9 Jan 2014 10:45

No not really. Just waiting to go out for his appointment. It was a very short email but he did say that knowing we are thinking of him is a great morale booster. He is also very grateful to you Linda for keeping us up to date :-)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 9 Jan 2014 10:17

Aimee talks quietly so we don't always hear her - just the boys yelling at her. Typical behaviour - her mother was the same :-D

Mersey Report 9 Jan 2014 10:16

Awwww bless em ;-) they are just testing you Sue :-D ;-)

Time for a cuppa and a toasted teacake me thinks Yum :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Jan 2014 10:03

I know I am notsupposed to laugh at Aimee's antics, bmt I couldn't help myself.

It is very trying though, my daughter was adept at winding my son up. In the end, he would hit her,then be in trouble for that. She deserved it though as he was so sweet to her when she was little, until she learnt to taunt him.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 9 Jan 2014 09:59

Yes I am Linda :-D. Aimee was quite naughty today. She was teasing and annoying her brothers and had Joel in tears a few times. She had to have time out a couple of times :-(

Hello Mersey and Sue.

Are you worn out after your day of grandparenting Sue?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 9 Jan 2014 09:52

Hello everyone <3 :-D

Our medical system leaves a lot to be desired but I don't know anyone who has been neglected to the point that Tec has. My complaint is the few doctors who feel that when someone reaches a certain age they aren't worthy of care - they write a prescription and hope for the best.

I hope you have enough cutlery and crockery for all those dinners Diane and pans large enough for all that veg.

It is good to see you posting Persie. It isn't just Wales where the heatlth care can be bad. I am sure there are some wonderful people working in the NHS, it is just the system which is in chaos.

I look back at my own experiences with my paretnts over the last few years. The nursing care my father recieved after an operation was so woeful that it nearly killed him and he spent months in hospital recovering from it. We looked after him at home, but it was very hard work, especially for my mother. By then his cancer had advanced and I( must say that the oncology unit was excellent.

Then my mother whose GP ignored her complaint about a bad pain in her side time after time.Only after she was admitted to hospital on the last occasion with a widespread infection did it turn out that she had a blocked bile duct which was causing the pain. By the time they removed the gall stone, the infection had spread, but if she had had prompt and better treatment she would have survived. Insteadshe was treated by a succesion of juniour doctors who were moved around the wards every two weeks, so there was never any continuity of care.

I could go on, but despite all the enquiries we have in this country where "lessons need to be learnt", nothing ever changes.

Just to let you know that I am reading this thread every couple of days and keeping up with Tec's lack of progress..

I can't see that happening here, you go to A & E and they don't let you out of the building until everything is sorted.

The thought of gangrene had occurred to me and I was really hoping that would not happen.

I do have to ask this though does where he lives in Wales not keep up with the rest of Britain regarding medical treatment?

Diane Report 9 Jan 2014 01:48

Hello everyone,

Linda thank you for all the updates on our Tec and the Duchess <3
It is an absolute disgrace that the NHS has let things get so bad for Tec as I'm sure if thing's had been done right when the first infection set in then he would not be were he is now :-|
I hope they are able to make Tec more comfortable and sort something out for him when he visits Telford Clinic later today, sending healing thoughts for him and calming thoughts for the Duchess as this will be a stressful time for her <3 <3

Sylvia I hope you SIL is comfortable and it is good that she is able to be at home as she wishes <3

Amanda I'm glad to hear you have nothing to worry about after your scare :-0
Hope all is well with you and the family <3
Did you read on the Bedroom Tax group about the 12yr old who was pulled out of class by the Anti terrorist monitoring squad ? :-(

~~~~to Mersey, hope all is well with you and your's <3
Sue chip butties sounds good, I love them or on a buttered barm when I have a chippy tea out :-)
