Hello Allan , at least you almost have the price of the ticket back ...lol I'm glad I don't get tempted to buy one often . I hope you have a lovely holiday :-D
Linda , I hope all goes well on the 30th , I'm sure Esme will be much happier once that blasted tube is moved . She might be a bit behind at the moment but she will catch up in time , they do all develope at different rates and as the saying goes " what you lose on the roundabout , you gain on the swings " :-) Our Tommy talks quite a bit but Alice just points and makes noises ( she is four months older than he is ) .
Persie , I don't know that one , it's before my time :-)

Tut Persie, we don't allow any shenanigans like that in our cinema.
Is it going to be another lazy day for you Sue?

Persie a lady :-0 *splutters*
It will be so much better for the family when Esme has her op. I'm sure Esme will be much more comfortable and there won't be the problem of her pulling the tube out.

Hello all
Persie, I've not checked the arrival time yet but my daughter is visiting us this morning so I'll see what she has to say.
I believe that we will be arriving in Auckland in the early hours which is why the Agent has booked us in for an extra night at the hotel where the entire group assembles.
Nice surprise yesterday. Checked my lotto ticket from last weekends multi-million dollar draw. The machine said 'congratulations. You are a winner' I handed the ticket in and the girl said 'Do you want cash'. I said yes but I'll have to go home and get the wheelbarrow. The girl laughed and said don't bother and handed me $13.10. The blasted ticket cost me $ 16.00 to purchase :-D

Hello everyone, I saw the tennis on the news as well, it is crazy to make them play in heat like that.
Esme is due to have her operation on the 30th January to put a tube direct into her stomach, so she will not have to have the tube down her nose. She is nearly six months now, but in her behaviour she is more like a three month old, if that.
I always thought of you as a lady Persie, I could never imagine you being improper

I'm watching " Sherlock " so I'm a bit distracted .....lol

Linda .. we also call them a skip, or a huka bin.. the big ones are supposed to be loaded with no more than just over 4 tons but we know it was more and there was very little gap between bin and top of tyres when it went back on the truck.
We were going to do it by the trailer load cos we were told $10 a ton.. we loaded 460kgs took it along and it was still $10 plus $15 for the weighbridge charge.. and they said hire a bin $280 odd all up.. which made sense.
We used to live in this house properly once Linda but now we is improper and when it becomes a better proper we will be moving.
We used to have mezzanine floors at some picture theatres etc Amanda.. one place which sadly got pulled down had comfortable seats in the stalls, very comfortable seats in the mezzanine and then above that was the circle and then at the top was these seats with no backs but did have a bit of something to sit on not rock hard but just about.. these were the cheapest and called the gods.
Cheers Persie

Berona , Allan and Sue , I hope it isn't to hot where you are , the Aussie heat was mentioned on our news today , ( something about tennis I believe ) .

Good morning everyone, The earth has never moved for me :-0
Persie, you must have muscles like Popeye. I was trying to imagine what type of bin would take all that concrete, here if we were doing a job like that we would hire a skip, so maybe that is what you call a bin.
I hope that you don't have tooo much more to do on the house before you can settle in properley

Just make sure you read your card properly re coming into the country.. we always declare stuff to Oz and to NZ and go through the red lane.. get quicker service and once you tell them you have got coffee or cornflakes etc.. and they will take your cheese away from you or any honey and then you are allowed in.
I hope you are not getting one of those flights that gets here about 3pm in the afternoon. Once when we came back it took ages about 4 or more planes had come in all within a few minutes of each other. We were on a jumbo and himself says to me I didn't realise there was this many people on our plane.. yeah right!!
Got through the stamping procedure and I headed to the carousel that would have our bags on it.. and he says how do you know which one we have to find out.. I said there hasn't been much else to do but look at the overhead monitors which say which flight is on which carousel. He hadn't even noticed them...
Grandchildren were getting rather frazzled with the long wait.
We only do tremors when you least expect them.. Wellington has them often, even August knows what to do.

Hello Sylvia and Persie,
Having just read back my post about going to NZ and answering Sue's post about flying times to there from Perth, I mentioned a mythical 'she' :-(
I was sure that I had written that my daughter was in NZ late last year, but I can not locate the post :-(
Therefore 'she' is my daughter, not the cat's mother, but as my OH reminded me, my daughter was so drugged up (legal prescriptions) that she could have been flying to anywhere, even without leaving the ground :-D
Persie, I realise that NZ will be much cooler than WA, and wetter, and I'm looking forwards to being rehydrated by NZ rain.
As the bulk of the trip is by coach, I don't anticipate too many problems, although I can do without the earth tremors :-D
I was in Kalgoorlie many years ago when a minor tremor struck.....I was faecally scared :-0
I will send the itinerary to you within the next few days. It would be fantastic to catch up if possible

Hi Sue, and everyone
more rain over the weekend, but now it looks to be clearing up, with sun (and early morning fog) for the rest of the week :-)
Allan ....... we were in NZ for December / January 1992/93 ................ relatives in Melbourne were most put out that we didn't fly over to them for Christmas
I told them we just couldn't afford it having checked the cost. They finally understood about 6 years later when one of the sons married a NZ girl!
OH and daughter were actually based in Palmerston North from October 1993 to June 1993, but I only got that 2 months with them.
take care everyone
s xx

Just remember Allan whilst our summers start later and finish later it will be cooler than that there Australind of yours. Plus we get a lot of rain it gets sent over from Australia whenever they have rain, but we also get it from elsewhere.
We have the builders here today putting in a window, we took the old one out it was perfectly okay but himself wanted a shorter one so that a bed can go either way on the mezzanine level in the main bedroom.. It has been boarded up for awhile until carpenter could come.
I do apologise Sue we have been very noisy.. when we broke up our front paths and driveway himself had to get a concrete cutter and because it was daylight saving and he had hired the cutter he worked till nearly seven.. The noise control chap came around and we found out that industrial noise must stop at 5pm. Then we had an electric drill to drill holes in the concrete as well.. Took us four days to load up a huge bin with about 5 ton of broken up concrete.. Just the two of us doing it and we had the new fence put in before the big bin arrived so we had to go around that to the bin parked in the road.... luckily we have a street light outside our place on the berm.
Now we are doing new front steps and changing the front verandah area, before new paths and driveway go in.
Will be very glad when all this is over and not feel like I am camping..
Persie
