LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Feb 2014 17:57

I am shattered after playing and swimming. In between that I have given the house a really good clean . They had a cleaner who went on holiday before Christmas but never came back, so my daughter has been trying to do it, but obviously hasn't been able to do anything in the last couple of weeks.

Esme started having clear fluids through the stomach tube yesterday, but she seems to be in pain again, so they may have to go back to the hospital where she had the operation. They don't want to do that because the nursing care was awful and they have just finished crafting a complaint.

Hellooooo!!!!!

Poor little Esme - she is having a rough trot. My warm wishes to everyone. It's difficult and very tiring to have a little one in hospital <3

Oh Linda poor Esme :-( I hope she improves soon and that she is soon able to feed through her new tube, I bet Eve is happy to have you there again sending healing thoughts for Esme <3

Berona, thank you for some of your sunshine today for my Aunty's funeral as it helps to get through the day when the sun shines.

Grabbing a moment of peace sitting next to Esme's cot in the hospital. She has been playing with her toys but is asleep now. Mummy and Eve are in the ward play room. Poor Esme still hasn't been fed since she came back in on Tuesday, she is just on a drip. Her wound was infected and yellow yesterday, but it looks better today

Berona Report 7 Feb 2014 10:32

Just popping in before I take my book to bed. Oh Diane - I wish so much that I could trade you some sunshine for your rain. I get so tired of having to water my pots - twice a day in high temps - and even then, my poor Bird of Paradise keeps looking wilted.
I scared a little bird this evening when I opened the back door. It was having a drink out of my cat's water dish. The cat doesn't go out there much and doesn't seem to use that dish as she has more inside the house - and I sometimes find it empty, but I like to keep water in it, in case she wants it. When I saw the little bird, I resolved to make sure the water is kept up to it from now on. That will be a turn around. In my previous home, I had a lovely bird-bath - and the cat used to stand on the rocks edging the garden around it, to drink out of it. She had her own, but I think it must have tasted better if the birds had been having a bath in it!

Hello everyone :-D

Pleased to hear you have arrived safely, Linda. Fancy striking on the very day you need to go to London :-0

Hello Amanda - I have been so busy in the garden that I'm afraid my house is suffering from neglect. An empty house today so I shall get stuck in.

What a nuisance Diane - it just adds to the stress :-(

Brrrrr....that sounds very cold, Sylvia. Stay rugged up.

Diane , so sorry to hear it was cancelled , what a load of stress for nothing :-| :-(

Hello Sylvia , I hope you are managing to keep warm .

Linda , glad you got though London okay , I hope you don't catch cold from being caught in the rain .
Thank you for the up-date on Tec , it is so good to know that he is getting on with things . He really is a wonder :-) It is also reassuring to know the Duchess has settled down in the care home , it must be a great weight off his mind <3

Sue , small world isn't it :-D Have you visited Enfield wen you've been over here ?

I have been mostly doing housework today :-0 I really had let the bathroom get rather grubby , so today was the day to get it back up to reasonable condition , it still looks a bit tatty but at least it is clean .....lol

LindainHerriotCountry Report 6 Feb 2014 16:38

I am safely in that there London. Thanks to the tube strike I had to walk from Kings Cross to Euston, which is not far, except it was tanking down. The law definitely needs to be changed to stop them striking, so I won't get wet again :-D

It sounds very cold where you are Sylvia, but I think I would rather have that than all this rain

LindainHerriotCountry Report 6 Feb 2014 12:07

I spoke to Tec this morning,he sounded fine. He is having lots of physio, he said he has phantom pain from the missing leg. He has to have a minor procedure to remove a filter either today or tomorrow, then the surgeons have finished with him.
He said the Duchess has settled in the home and is reading all of the time. He hasn't spoken to her yet, but will be able to see her once he moves.

I am on the train on the way to London

Hi Sue, and everyone

Linda ........... so sorry to hear that Esme is back in hospital. I do hope they can solve the problem so she can feed without pain, and go home.

Thank you for the update on Tec.

We are having lovely weather here ................. sunny, and blue skies. The problem is that it comes courtesy of an Arctic Front ................... so it's flippin' cold out there!

It is expected to get down here to about -9C tonight, with a wind chill making it feel more like -15C ....... elsewhere in the province it will be down to -25C, and feeling like close to -35C :-S

Turn up the heating, put on an extra sweater ............. and go out well wrapped up!!!

I have seen reports of the horrible weather in the UK. Terrible!

take care everyone
