Thank you everyone for your warm welcome back, and kind words. It is really good to be back and able to talk to my friends again. I know that in the weeks and months to come there will be difficulties and hurdles to get over, but it is a great comfort to know that you will all be there to talk to, and discuss things with.
It's great to be back.

Tec , it is wonderful to see you posting :-D <3 <3 :-D I hope it goes well at the weekend when you see the Duchess . The seperation must be the hardest thing for you to bear but at least you will see that she is being well looked after . You have been much missed by all of us and as Linda has so rightly said , when you get home we will always be around to keep you company .
Sue , I loved the photos of " the stack " on FB . I have a set of pics from some years ago of a very similar thing , a landmark chimney blown away by controlled explosion :-(
Linda , it sounds as if you are going to be doing a lot of travelling backwards and forewards in the next few months . I think you ought to be awarded a " top Nanny " trophy :-) I hope Esme is recovering well <3
~~~~ to everyone :-) :-)
Back again.
Well after six weeks in Shrewsbury hospital I am now in the cottage hospital in Tywyn, that is just ten miles away from my home. I have to stay here for a couple of weeks while they " build me back up", also some exercises and physio. I lost three and a half stone in weight before going into hospital, so need to put some back. Some alterations are being made to the house before I can go home. The dining room is being converted into a bedroom. The Occupational Therapist is taking me to the house next week to see how I manage about the house with the wheelchair, and other things. More importantly than all that is that a nurse is taking me to see the Duchess at the weekend. She is in the nursing home along the road. I haven't seen or spoken to her in six weeks. She has apparently told everyone I am away on holiday :-0 . I am very concerned that I don't upset her, and she may think I have come to take her home. I don't think the Duchess will ever come home again, because I know I couldn't manage. I hardly managed with two legs. I don't mind the prospect of living alone, but knowing the Duchess will not be there is heart breaking. I expect I will get used to it. So long as she is happy. Really it is the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and I regard it as a challenge.
My leg has healed nicely, except I have nasty phantom pains. That is really weird, but I'm told will ease in time. I have to go back to Shrewsbury in a week or two. They have to remove a steel filter that goes down through the jugular vein into the groin to catch any clots. It's an out patient appointment. On Monday I go to Wrexham, 70 miles away to meet the prosthetic limb people. The surgeon has advised me to use the wheelchair, and only use the artificial leg for high days and holidays. Well I seem to have gone on too long. I can't tell you how much I missed you all lying in that bed all those weeks. I haven't read back as I was too eager to send a post, I hope everything is alright with everyone.
Tec :-)
Hello again,
I think I may be reconnected - I do hope so, because I've driven everyone in this hospital insane trying to get me online :-D. I managed to send Linda an e-mail earlier, and was going to ask her to relay to you on here, in case I couldn't get on again. Basically, it is in appreciation of the wonderful support I've had from you all. Linda has been wonderful relaying your messages, and yesterday I received the beautiful booklet that Shaun has put together.
Out of practice - hit submit button by mistake.
Oh lord, what have I done.
Esme can't get a place in nursery until September, but my daughter has to go back to work in April.
Same situation as when they had Eve, except my daughter took an extra three months unpaid maternity leave, which they can't afford to do now. To cover the gap the two sets of grandparents alternated going down to London every other week for three days to look after her. That was when you were here Sue. Anyway, the other grandmother is too ill to do that now, so I am going to London for three days a week to look after Esme.
They were looking at finding a child minder to fill in the gap and if Esme had been well, that wouldn't have been too bad, but she needs individual care at the moment. I would much rather go and look after her in her own home until she is a bit older and hopefully feeding better.
It won't be too bad because we have a two week holiday booked which my daughter will cover, plus we are all going to Centre Parcs for a week and my daughter was planning a weeks holiday in July with some friends,so I will get some time off.
Just a quick hello :-)
We are going out very early to see an "icon" come down. It is a large chimney that we all call "The Stack". It can be seen for miles around in our industrial port but it's had it's day and down it comes. We have found a vantage point so OH can see it from the car.
The amount of protesting that has gone on has been amazing and at times ridiculous. It has been delayed a few times because of asbestos checks.
May be home in time to say goodnight :-)
A big WELCOME BACK to Tec, if he manages to get on long enough to read our messages. Alan did try to fill in, but he is just another Aussie, not quite the same as a Welshman. ;-)
