Hello Sylva :-D

I know Linda will be annoyed but we all very much appreciated how she kept us and the Wales thread up to date. Without Linda we wouldn't have known what was going on and that would have been dreadful. So.....thank you my lovely friend <3

Sue when Tec says we are priceless, you don't think he means cheap and nasty do you :-(

I've just read back

Linda ............ that is going to be a hard 2 or 3 months, with all the travelling back and forth.

But I'm sure you will enjoy it.

We've just had an offer on the cabin and land ......................... it is at the asking price, so we have to accept it.

However, we've had to ask them to delay our acceptance of this initial offer ................. they wanted it by 5 pm today (or about 4 hours from now), but OH is away overnight, then has appointments tomorrow.

So our realtor is telling them we won't be able to respond until 5 pm on Saturday.

They want closure by March 26 .......... subject to them getting a mortgage.

They haven't even seen the darn place other than in photos ........... it's covered by 3+ feet of snow, and no-one will be able to get in easily until early April :-)

Apparently some other guy is going in either tomorrow or Satruday to "walk" the property on snowshoes :-)

Chatting to us? Not long Tec :-D

Are you being cheeky, Linda :-0

The chimney has been out of use for a few years and the company wanted to get rid of it. Apparently a group was set up to save it but truly it was an eye-sore. The locals wanted rid of it but this group, that was formed wanted to take the company to court to stop the demolition. They couldn't get the donations required to pay for the lawyers. When all is said and done it was only a chimney although certainly a landmark in the area.

Hello Sue, I missed you all so very much, it's great to be back. I hope everything is well with you.
Chimney stacks do seem to cause a bother wherever they are. I remember a few years ago there was one at the brewery in Wrexham. The brewery no longer used it and wanted it demolished. However, a local MP, John Marek insisted it stay as it was a local landmark. Eventually the brewery sold him the chimney stack for a shilling. It became his personal property :-D I believe it was eventually demolished when the rest of the brewery was taken down.

I wonder how long my £20 credit will last on my dongle?.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 20 Feb 2014 21:11

It may be my medication Linda - they are reducing the morphine. I was on a m assive dose when I went away, 130mg twice a day = 260 mg a day. Now I'm down to 110 twice a day = 220 a day. This will be reduced by ten units a week.

Amanda2003 Report 20 Feb 2014 21:08

Jem , did you OH start singing " I'm picking up good vibrations " ? lol

It really is good to see you back Tec :-) We are all getting on okay , thank you .

Some of the kiddies have been down with a cold but apart from that , all is well :-)

If your looking to build your arms up ( to give you a fighting chance of beating Mersey in the race ) , could you ask the physio if they have a bullworker ?
Joking aside , when I was stuck in a hospital bed for ten weeks and unable to do physiotherapy until my pelvis had set to a certain degree , I used a bullworker to get my upper body ready for the trials of life on crutches .

Hello everyone and a special hello for you, dear Tec. We have missed you so very much <3

Upwards and onwards is the way to go.

Linda - I well remember you travelling down to London every second week for Eve. It will be more difficult going down every week but I know you will cope. You are such a great Hanma :-)

We had the wait for ages for the stack to come down - a silly man refused to leave the exclusion zone at the designated time and that delayed everything :-(. Something funny did happen. After the chimney came down our local television station was interviewing a resident and a streaker ran behind the interviewer only wearing a t-shirt :-D

Hello Jemima, how are things with you? I'm fine, and even better now I've made contact on the laptop. I shall be afraid to turn it off tonight, in case I can't get back in tomorrow :-D

I've just been served a mug of Horlicks and a ham sandwich. The food here is excellent, in contrast to Shrewsbury that was dreadful, but the were catering for over 900. There are only 14 here.
