Tecwyn Report 23 Feb 2014 21:21

It was disappointing Linda. I even wore a tie :-)

The weather is pretty awful here tonight. I hope it won't be so wild in the morning. I will be leaving here about 9am

Ah, that sort of chain Sylvia. Yes they are the bain of house selling

I am sorry the nurse didn't turn up Tec

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Feb 2014 20:38

We do still have chains here Sylvia, usually if one collapses the whole lot falls through.
I was saddened not to get to see the Duchess, just as well that she wasn't expecting me. Maybe the nurse simply forgot. I will make a definite arrangement during the week.

Hi Linda .................

we used hear from friends about "mortgage chains" to buy houses.

One friend ended up as number 10 in a chain of 25 ..................... all wanting to buy the house ahead of them but having to sell their own house first.

If I remember correctly, that chain collapsed when number 23 failed to complete their deal.

Tec ................. I'm sorry that the nurse didn't turn up. That wasn't very nice of her after promising you (((hugs)))

Hello,

Please don't send the snow here Sylvia :-)
I didn't get to see the Duchess after all. The nurse who said she would take me never turned up. I will try to make a definite arrangement this week.

Did you enjoy your coffee Linda? I hope so.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2014 20:03

I hope they get the mortgage Sylvia

Which chains?

Hi Sue, and everyone

Tec ........... I do hope you get to see the Duchess xxxxx

it snowed all night, very lightly, it is still snowing now (almost 11:30 am) ......... but it is now sticking and accumulating. We must have close to 5 cm on the sun deck.

It's not showing much sign of stopping :-(

I heard from our realtor yesterday evening ............... the prospective buyers got in to the property yesterday, on their snow shoes ............... and more importantly, got out again :-)

Their agent says they are still interested, and are now going to apply get a mortgage.

Depending on their financial state, that may or may not be a sticking point.

Luckily, we don't get those "chains" that you used to get in the UK .......... do you still get them??????

well, the Olympics are over ....................... and Canada won the gold in the Men's ice hockey early this morning :-D

I did NOT get up to watch it ................ it was on out TV from about 4 am to 6 am :-)

take care everyone

Enjoy your coffee :-)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2014 13:54

So much cheaper :-D

I am going for coffee next door, so see you later

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Feb 2014 13:52

Well - as I will only have one clog, then I suppose that means half a funeral. :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2014 13:48

Well the hand over meeting is important you know, there is lots to discuss and tea and biscuits to be had.

I googled pop your clogs

Pop means to pawn. Clogs were essential footwear and you only had one pair, so the family would only pawn (pop) your clogs to pay for the funeral once you were dead.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Feb 2014 13:40

You may well be right.

They bang the lights on, and insist on shouting on the top of their voices. They bring a coffee, then disappear for an hour :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2014 13:33

I don't know why hospitals insist on waking you up so early, I think they have to make sure you haven't popped your clog during the night before the hand over to the day staff.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Feb 2014 13:30

Yes she may turn up yet. Having been up since 6-30am (how silly) I tend to think the day is much later than it is. Feels like teatime to me

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2014 13:27

That is a shame, but she may turn up yet

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Feb 2014 13:25

Doesn't look like the nurse is coming today. I will arrange a definite time and day this week. If she can't take me I'll see if someone else can. Though it would have been better if she had taken me as she knows the Duchess, and the background.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2014 13:21

At least it is working. Any sign of your visit going ahead today

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Feb 2014 13:19

I think Sue must have gone to bed ages ago, it must be well past her bedtime.

Very weak signal here today, so internet very slow

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2014 13:17

Yes you could and often do :-D

Has Sue gone to bed?
